Using their own created shutdown as an excuse, the American Duce Wannabe and his Project 2025-American Mein Kampf-White Christian Nationalist Partner Russell Vought have, as promised, instituted a series of federal government layoffs that they have targeted as “Democrat-oriented.”
Unfortunately, these layoffs are nothing more than a continuation of the federal workforce cuts, outlined in Project 2025 and instigated with DOGE at the beginning of this administration that are designed to cut programs that educate the vulnerable and advance disease prevention to save lives.
As Arizona Senator Mark Kelly said on CNN:
“There aren’t Democrat workers or agencies and Republican agencies. That’s ridiculous…These are people with families and they have to pay mortgages and rent. They have to put food on the table…They do not have to do this. They do not have to punish people.”
Among the layoffs announced by the cruel Trump-Vought Central Committee were towards the special education funding division at the Department of Education and vital portions of the Center for Disease and Control (CDC) that were assigned to detect new infectious diseases before they posed a major threat to the American People.
According to National Health Reporter for the Washington Post, Lena Sun, CDC staff described the firings there as a “blood bath.”
On the special education cuts, Arizona Assistant House Democratic Leader Nancy Guiterrez posted:
“The entire Trump administration should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to public education, especially special education. This is most definitely illegal, and certainly immoral.”
On the CDC layoffs, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari posted:
“Trump just fired the CDC officials leading our vaccine, global health, and measles response efforts. The most anti-science administration in U.S. history. And people will die because of it.”
One may think that the Trump-Plutocratic-Tech crowd, influenced by Elon Musk and Peter Thiel is taking additional subtle steps to advance their Long Termist-Eugenics agenda which is nothing more than replacing those who they think are expendable and deadwood with AI technology.
Fortunately, either because of political and media blowback or actually admitting they were incompetent, the Trump regime rescinded many of the layoffs at the CDC announced on Friday including the people responsible for managing the measles outbreak which current Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy has enabled with his dangerous and ridiculous anti vaccination and anti medication agenda/messaging like his recent claim at a White House cabinet gathering that “giving Tylenol to recently circumcised baby boys causes autism.”
How insane is that?
Other staff members at the CDC whose positions were restored include:
- The scientific staff working to contain the Ebola Virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- Members of the Epidemic Intelligence Service.
- “Team that assembles the C.D.C.’s vaunted scientific journal, The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.”
Unfortunately, according to New York Times reporting, the termination of the CDC’s Washington office staff will proceed as well as the staffs at the Office of the Director of the Center for Injury Prevention and the Division of Violence Prevention Policy.
Dr. Debra Houry, who up until August was the CDC Chief Medical Officer before resigning in August over Trump and Kennedy’s policy direction, commented to the Times:
“This is going to be devastating to Americans and to the global community…They are dismantling public health.”
It is reasonable to think that the American People did not vote in the last election to harm special education children or create a government that exposed them to greater threats to their health.
They should have listened to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and all the other Democrats, Independents, and like minded Republicans that called out what Trump, Vought, and the rest of the Project 2025 teams would do if they were given another ticket to the Executive Branch.
Former Vice President Harris had it right with her below appraisal of Trump and his Project 2025 team.
