Throwback Thursday

063014_huppenthal cartoon

Hard to believe it’s been almost two years since Thucky was with us. He’s actually back, using the pseudonym “John Huppenthal,” but it’s not the same. I still get a chuckle out of this cartoon by Arnie Bermudez, so thought I’d share. Note the name tag on the teacher’s desk. 🙂 Thanks again, Arnie.

  1. How do you know that is really Huppenthal ….. after all it could be some other troll

  2. The number one predictor of success in the workplace, far above the high school diploma, is knowledge of English. If we care about these students, getting them to know English fluently has to be our all out objective.

That is anti-racist, that’s caring about these students.

That comment was inspired by one of our preeminent insurance companies posting a billboard completely in Spanish, not even English subtitles at 32nd street and McDowell. I realized that we could have neighborhoods that left these students terribly behind with no exposure to English.

    • I can’t remember whether it was you or your predecessor who started the 4 hr ELL block, but if you wanted kids to learn English, you chose the worst possible way for that to happen. Did I mention the ELL Task Force was headed by the owner of an investment banking firm, who, like you, had absolutely no education degree or credentials?

    • Well, that’s mighty white of you.

Thanks pale daddy, for looking out for Mexicans. Odd that they don’t thank you more often.

Your problem is that throughout your scandal ridden career you’ve exposed your racism over and over again.

But when exposed in public you lack intellectual honesty and are too cowardly to own your beliefs.

“No spanish radio stations, no spanish billboards, no spanish tv, no spanish newspapers, This is America, speak English.”

That’s not “caring”, that’s just plain old sad little man racism.

Also, you probably shouldn’t expose your email address. I know this is the type of mistake anyone can make and is unrelated to your scandal ridden career, this isn’t anti-Falcon9, it’s caring about posters.

  3. You have three problems. A) not a single comment was racist. B) How did that work out for all you Democrats? C) You committed fraud, saying that people could post under pseudonyms and then committed a betrayal.

It worked out fine for me. Obviously, you all are feeling the sting having to resort to demonization. That’s what your are left with when you are on the losing side of every argument. Scorn, mock, ridicule that’s your coin.

    • Now, now…

“No spanish radio stations, no spanish billboards, no spanish tv, no spanish newspapers, This is America, speak English.”

      Sounds a little racist.

But hey, it’s a free country, you’re entitled to your small minded bigoted opinion.

But explain why you were posting from government computers on government time, Disgraced and racist former Arizona Politician John Huppenthal.

      • Well, you can’t make the case, so you just state the lie. That’s how you choose to operate.

All of these arguments have policy content, I was perfectly in my bounds to comment from any computer I chose.

Only 3,000 copies of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto were sold in Russia. The most toxic idea in history. 40 million people died. Wouldn’t have happened on my watch. His labor theory of value was moronic.

You all are buying into Picketty’s equally moronic ideas, advocating a “revolution”, evidently picturing yourself as reptilian Che Guveras putting a gun to 23 million people blowing their brains out. You are idiots.

        • “All of these arguments have policy content, I was perfectly in my bounds to comment from any computer I chose.”

So, you were posting as John Huppenthal, in your official capacity, and using your title?

Nope, didn’t think so. You were campaigning.

    • I guess I’m not following you on your “How did that work out for all you Democrats?” question. Are you alluding to the election of Diane Douglas, or something else? Please explain.
