Trump: You’ll Have To Drag Me Kicking And Screaming From The White House

If you haven’t figured out by now that Donald Trump is totally delusional, this ought to convince you.

Bess Levin reports at Vanity Fair, It Sure Sounds Like Trump May Barricade Himself In The Oval Office And Refuse To Come Out If Biden Wins:

[A]s you’ve probably heard, Donald Trump is taking it as well as everyone had expected, ranting and raving about all kinds of made-up fraud, demanding counts be stopped in one state and continued in others, and filing numerous lawsuits that stand little chance of holding up in court because they have no merit (and, in some cases, have led judges to believe the lawyers attached to them have recently suffered traumatic brain injuries). At this point, a quasi reasonable person might say to himself, Okay, I’m going to cut my losses, salvage my last atom of dignity, and admit defeat. But obviously Donald Trump is not reasonable and he has no dignity. So instead he’s decided he’ll keep fighting this thing well beyond the point that it’s hugely embarrassing to do so, and even after that fails, refuse to acknowledge that he lost and that Joe Biden is going to be president.

Yes, like George Costanza deciding to just go back to the office on Monday as if he didn’t quit the Friday before, Trump apparently thinks he can just go on being president even if the American people have fired him. According to CNN, Trump reportedly has not prepared a concession speech and “in conversations with allies in recent days has said he has no intention of conceding the election.” The decision to go full delusional has obviously been strengthened by staffers, such as Mark Meadows, who “have not attempted to come to terms with the president about the reality of what is happening” and have instead fed into his claims of fraud; Vice President Mike Pence, who’s been soliciting money for a legal defense fund; and his adult children, who’ve been spouting absurd conspiracy theories on Twitter as they watch the ultimate opportunity for nepotism slip away. While Trump has apparently admitted to some people that he knows the electoral math has no chance of working out in his favor, he has “maintained that a prolonged court battle and corrosive rhetoric about election fraud would sow enough doubt to allow him to refuse to accept the results.”

And while the majority of the president’s inner circle is more than happy to go along with this sad alternative reality, a few members have reportedly grown worried that, eventually, someone will have to sit Trump down and explain that little Donny’s not going to be president anymore—and at this point, it seems unlikely anyone will be able to get through to him short of slapping him across the face and screaming, “YOU LOST! IT’S OVER!” Yes, this is an actual thing allies of the president of the United States are actually grappling with:

It is a possibility the president did not consider in a serious way during the election, despite polls showing him with only a narrow path to victory, believing that looking past Election Day was bad luck. The delicate matter of a loss—and a potential postpresidential life—was not discussed widely among his team and was not raised often with the president, who believed adamantly he would win.

Now people around Trump are working to identify who might be able to communicate to him the stark reality. There has been talk of potentially Jared Kushner or Ivanka Trump, though their willingness to lead a difficult intervention wasn’t clear.

[O]n Friday, Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said that the former vice president’s staff wasn’t worried about Trump refusing to leave the White House—not because they don’t believe he’s certifiably insane and might definitely barricade himself in the Oval Office, but because security will simply escort him from the premises. “The U.S. government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House,” he said.

This would be life imitating art. Comedy Central’s The President Show back in 2017 imagined a situation just like this when Donald Trump visits a day care center. Vice President Mike Pence has to drag him kicking and screaming from the classroom, as Trump throws a tantrum screaming “I don’t wanna go!”  Episode “Donny Goes to School” (start around the 4:00 minute mark to watch the ending).

The sad part is, you can actually imagine him doing this, can’t you?

  1. Farty Pants, I will answer your question.

There is no more dangerous and powerful force on earth than a hurricane. It destroys everything in it’s path without pity.

It commands fear and demands respect.

    It will not be denied.

But as Dorian threatened the east coast in 2019, Donald Jehoshaphat Trump stared the beast right in the eye and became legend.

He raised his meaty arm high to the heavens, and with a mighty swirling motion, drew a protective line around Alabama with a common office supply, and saved the lives of tens of thousands of Alabamans.

And The Alabama Sharpie was born, defender of justice, mocker of fascists.

Now, you’ve become tiresome, Farts, don’t make me live up to Wileybud’s threat.

    Your pal, Tom

  2. Hey Queef at 5:25PM, what on earth are you talking about with “little blac-blocs”? Is that supposed to be some kind of insinuation?

Also, from what I’ve seen of right wingers who fancy themselves as constitutional scholars saying wearing a mask and practicing common sense safety in the face of a deadly pandemic infringes on their rights, compared to those who actually sacrificed to defeat Fascism, Nazism, and Imperialism, whether in the field or here at home, are not capable making the same necessary sacrifices so your rant is pretty bogus. I despise Fascism so that makes me proud to have anit-Fascist beliefs.

I say this as a two service military veteran whose parents are spending eternity together in Section 16 of Arlington National Cemetery.

Go now or “Joe Biden is 46 and All Is Right with Sharpie” will taunt you a second time.

    • Wiley, “A black bloc is a tactic used by protesters who wear black clothing, ski masks, scarves, sunglasses, motorcycle helmets with padding, or other face-concealing and face-protecting items.[1][2] The clothing is used to conceal wearers’ identities and hinder criminal prosecution by making it difficult to distinguish between participants. It is also used to protect their faces and eyes from pepper spray, which is used by police during protests or civil unrest.”

  3. Actually, antifa predates WW2 and fought in WW2.

    You’re confusing them with criminals.

Let me give you a tip that will make your life better, if the media you consume constantly tells you that they are the only ones you can trust, they are conditioning you to believe whatever they tell you.

And if antifa is your biggest fear, you’re living a good life, trust me.

  4. Hey Farts, Wileybud and Tom aka FSNT aka Alabama Sharpie have all been banned from this site in the past.

And since we’re both cashing our Soros checks every Friday, you know we must have done something pretty bad.

Took all The Deep State could do to get us back in.

Don’t get too rude and you’ll be fine.

I forgot how much fun it is having a far right Alex Jones Lizard People Trump cult member on this blog.

  5. “Remember, half of the country voted to keep TRUMP.”

Well, not quite half but I will agree that 70,800,000 Trump voters are a problem. I know that Joe Biden needs to talk about “unity” as that is perceived to be what people want to hear, the right thing to say. But that number seems to indicate that unity is a pipe dream and reaching out to these people is futile.

You’ve identified yourself as “inextricably bound to Trump” which means you’re okay with the Muslim ban, jailing children, putting children in cages, separating families and creating orphans, the Hurricane Maria response in Puerto Rico, the Charlottesville response, the 238 deaths caused by a botched pandemic response, the explosion of the national debt to provide tax cuts to the wealthy, the economy that leaves half the nation’s workers behind, and so forth. I’m tired of thinking about Trump’s failures, to be honest.

Trump is a world class grifter, a reality show buffoon, a tax cheat, a failed businessman, a white supremacist, and an epic failure of a president.

And, as it turns out, he was the GOP’s best chance of keeping the presidency. I really don’t think that Trey Gowdy or Ted Cruz could have done as well.

    Be Best.

  6. My pal,
Tom –Blog keeps tossing my responses to you, so, it was something about differing opinions prompting insults as responses, blah, blah, blah,…. pANTIFArts is an unapologetic dig at antifa. They are not what they represent themselves as, if you are part of it, then you already know that. And if you’re not, props. —-Your pal, FArts

    • My pal Farts, AntiFa means anti-fascist so yes, I am AntiFa, as we all should be, as were our grandparents when they fought in WW2.

As far as AntiFa not being “not what they represent themselves as” I would as you to do America a favor.

Please try to join AntiFa and infiltrate them and report back your findings.

Who is their leader? Where do they meet? Will there be refreshments? Is there a secret handshake?

Please report back soon, we are all very interested in your findings, and America will no doubt thank you.

I can’t believe I’m saying these words, it feels very third grade, but Mr. Farty Pants, you are not a serious person.

  7. Progressives—You disparage that which you can not control. You drown out those who you can not silence. You demand conformity and submission to your ideology, all while extolling the virtues of “diversity”. Do you not realize that half of this country was willing to vote for Donald Trump (faults and all) to defeat you? This was a Trump referendum, untold millions of “anyone but Trump” votes were cast. If Republicans had run anyone else, you would have been soundly rejected. You, sir —I think this article was a bit beneath you, given your bona fides. I believe Mr Obama remained in his position and residence until January.

    • pANTIFarts, wow, most of what you’re angry about is all in your head.

First, as far as drowning out out those “you cannot silence”, you don’t seem to be blocked from posting here.

And of course Obama remained in the residence until January. Is this your first presidential transition?

The day of the inauguration on January 20th is a big day, when we see the outgoing POTUS hand the keys off to the new POTUS, and then fly away in Marine One.

It’s tradition. It’s part of what makes America great, the peaceful transition of power.

But Trump has been saying all year he won’t accept a loss, hence the “kicking and screaming”.

BTW, 80 million Americans voted to fire your guy, he’s leaving like it or not, it’s not up to him.

And as far as your diversity comment, we all know what that means.

Say her name, it’s Kamala. She’s a woman of color and she’s your new VP.

      • FSNT, Chief of Staff to Alabama Sharpie — wow, are you angry? I’m not. My post was not an indictment, just years of observation. I’m not blocked from posting here? I wasn’t expecting to be, why?, is that the “default” on sites you visit? The “drowning out” refers to the tendency of normal discussions to devolve into accusations of “racist”, “homophobe”, “fascist”, etc, when the topic has nothing to do with race, orientation, or authoritarian nationalism. (Only an attempt to cancel differing opinion.) I can agree with most of your post (“first transition” was a bit snarky) UNTIL- ” your diversity comment, we all know what that means.” Which is it? racist? fascist? something else? What are you calling me? Read my post– diversity of ideologies. My whole point is this—-when all of your social media, your news sources, Sat Nite Live, etc, tell you that you are right and everyone but the lowest of people agrees with you, don’t believe it. Half of the country begs to differ.

        • Hey pants, where’d you get angry?

I’m kinda’ laughing at your posts. You’re a might big confused big guy, you seem to be having arguments with imaginary “leftists” in your own head.

Too much right wing echo chamber I assume.

Today is a great day, everyone except the fake billionaire reality TV game show host and failed New York condo sales is having a great day, and I guess his cult members.

Us members of the liberal mob are celebrating.

Keep it real, pants, gotta’ get back to the party.

        • ooops, if you are the Alabama Sharpie I replied to on the Alex Jones piece, I apologize for being dismissive. It’s called “Juvenalian” satire, where the truth is presented in a somewhat mocking manner. Again, I’m sorry.

          • Hey Farts,

I don’t find any “truth” in your satire, it sounds like you’re arguing with yourself about things you heard or read in right wing media, the kind of stuff that starts with “we know liberals hate America”, and that no one ever questions because it plays into their preconceptions.

Maybe your “satire” is just too meta for me to enjoy.

You have panties and farts and AntiFa in your screen name, so no need to apologize, we get it. I use stupid screen names to amuse myself, too.

BTW, you do get waayyyy too defensive on the diversity topic. Interesting.

            Your pal,
            Tom

          • Tom,– More was added to the Alex Jones article thread ( except I screwed it up) ‘Diversity? we all know what that means” (sounds like a “dig” , no? ) I get it, it’s the same on right-wing blogs. It’s a big “mutual group massage” until a different opinion shows up, Then some step up to “take a swing”, well, swing away, I don’t mind, and the others will love it.

    • PF says, “If Republicans had run anyone else, you would have been soundly rejected.”

      And who might that be?

From where I sit, and you must forgive me for I am influenced by social media and Saturday Night Live, but from where I sit it appears that the entire Republican party leadership has been taken down by Trump. Who is left that could represent truth, honesty, decency, etc…?

No, dear, the GOP is polluted, toxic, and corrupt. That’s why Mitch McConnell is the Senate majority leader. That’s why Republican legislators march in lockstep with Trump’s destructive agenda that was mostly based on his evil obsession with destroying Obama’s accomplishments but also destroying 87 years of democratic achievement beginning with the New Deal.

      So who could have won?

      • Liza –interesting questions. My over-all point was, with the number of apolitical “anyone but Trump” votes, (from those just hoping for an end to the anti-Trump media barrages, burning and looting, and constant demonstrations), a number of people could have run (and won). Remember, half of the country voted to keep TRUMP. If you are looking for truth, honesty, and decency the list would be much shorter. I am inextricably bound to Trump. At the founding of this country the idea was that “citizen servants” would pause their lives to serve in the government and then return to the private sector. My entire adult life I hoped that someday that could happen. Never, could I have imagined the vicious response of Washington, the media, and others in the cesspool of our government. SPOT ON-‘the entire Republican party leadership has been taken down by Trump” –“GOP is polluted, toxic, and corrupt” (add in the Democratic Party with that). Mitch McConnell has been in Washington for 36 Years!! Nancy Pelosi and john Lewis (RIP) for 33 years!! Y’all have the records for “swamp creatures (Robert Byrd 51yrs Senate and 6 House) ALL TIME RECORD–John Dingell Sr -22 years, John.Dingell Jr -60 years, and Debbie Dingell -5years. ONE FAMILY has held that Democratic seat for EIGHTY-SEVEN YEARS. Trump could have made the government work for us all again. Re: your integrity question – Trey Gowdy is probably the most truthful, honest, decent person to ever serve, but is repulsed by what Washington has become. Ted Cruz is up there too.
