Mayors Letter to U.S. Treasury re ERA

To date, 9,000 local residents have received rental assistance.

In making the announcement, Mayor Romero, in a press release, stated:

My gratitude goes to President Biden and the U.S. Treasury Department for swiftly re-allocating these funds. Through the Eviction Prevention Program we have developed locally, we have been able to quickly disburse critical rental assistance dollars to members of our community in greatest need.”

“Tucsonans are still feeling the lingering effects of the pandemic on an already strained housing market. Working families, individuals on fixed incomes, and those on the brink of homelessness are facing obscene rent hikes and a state-wide housing shortage. These resources will help those urgently trying to get back on their feet.”\
