Tucson Union Members Rally for Wisconsin Workers
as Wisconsin Badgers Take On Belmont Bruins
in NCAA March Madness Basketball

Tucson, AZ – The nationwide mobilization against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s new anti-union bill will hit Tucson on Thursday outside a Wisconsin Badgers NCAA March Madness basketball game.

Around 100 union members and supporters of Wisconsin workers will be showing solidarity with the Badger State as the #4 seated Wisconsin Badgers take on the #13 Belmont Bruins in the second round of NCAA March Madness Men’s Basketball.

“We’re Arizona Wildcats fans all the way, but on Thursday union members from Pima County will be standing behind Wisconsin,” said Linda Hatfield, Chair of the Pima Area Labor Federation. “We’ll be in the stands, on the streets and outside the McKale Center to show our support for workers rights in Wisconsin, Arizona and across the country.”

Last week, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed into law a measure tearing away long-held collective bargaining rights from Wisconsin public employees. Across the country and Arizona, middle-class Americans are fighting to uphold their right to join unions and pursue the American dream.

Visuals will include large banners and rally signs with messages supporting Wisconsin workers at a busy intersection and in front of UA McKale Center. 100 are expected to rally.
