Unlike Trump, Robson, or Biggs, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs is Helping People Get Relief from Medical Debt

From Governor Katie Hobbs’s social media.

While Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican apostates like Representative and Gubernatorial Andy Biggs are supporting actions and legislation that will keep medical debt on credit reports and kick the most vulnerable, including children, off their health care and food assistance and while another Gubernatorial wannabe KarriArizonan Taylor Robson is saying “I’ve got Donald Trump’s back” instead of everyday Arizonans, Governor Katie Hobbs has, using Biden/Harris American Rescue Plan dollars, erased $425 million of medical debt for 352,000 Grand Canyon state residents.

Commenting in a Gubernatorial Press Release, Hobbs wrote:

“Economic stability is core to the Arizona Promise. We’ve taken bold action to free Arizonans across the state from crushing medical debt. Medical debt deprives our fellow Arizonans of their basic dignity, prevents our families and neighbors from living happy and productive lives, and endangers the Arizona Promise. By erasing debt for hundreds of thousands of people across our state, we are creating pathways to economic security and empowering them to realize their full potential.”

The Governor also made the announcement on Phoenix based Channel 12 News.

In her comments there, the Governor said:

“Last year, we announced a partnership with a national nonprofit Undue Medical Debt that would cancel two billion dollars of medical debt for up to a million Arizonans. And today, we’re so proud to announce that $429 million dollars in medical debt is so far being canceled, and Arizonans who are benefiting from this should start to see letters in the mail today… This first round is for over 350,000 Arizonans. So if you get a letter like this in the mail, make sure that you open it. It means your medical debt is being canceled. This is going to the Arizonans who can least afford this huge medical debt, and so many Arizonans are struggling with medical debt. That is a huge burden, So folks who are under 400 percent of the federal poverty level or folks who are paying more than five percent of their income in medical bills will will see this kind of relief.”

The Governor and her team also posted on social media:

On Hobbs’s move, Arizona House Democratic Leader Oscar De Los Santos posted on social media:

While Andy Biggs voted to rip away healthcare from hundreds of thousands of Arizonans, Gov. Hobbs is delivering BIG TIME for working families. NO ONE SHOULD GO BANKRUPT BECAUSE THEY GOT SICK. Thank you,
@GovernorHobbs
