UNSCREWED THEATER’S 4th ANNIVERSARY!

January 25, 26, & 27, 2018

 “On January 30, 2014, Unscrewed Theater opened at 3244 E Speedway Blvd, becoming Tucson’s first theater devoted exclusively to the art of improvisation and improv comedy. NOW, to celebrate its 4th Anniversary Weekend, Unscrewed Theater is preparing to give Tucson a sample of EVERYTHING it has to offer!

 Thursday, January 25th – 7:30pm

From The Top – Unscrewed Theater’s Musical House Team

From The Top creates a full-length improvised musical from ONE audience suggestion! It’s an amazingly addictive combination that will keep you coming back for more!

 Friday, January 26th

7:30pm – Family-Friendly Improv Show with Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed

Since 2002, Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed has been entertaining children of ALL AGES in Tucson with its fast-paced improv games and scenes. Similar to Whose Line Is It Anyway? NBOJU incorporates audience suggestions and participation to create a different improv experience at every show!

 9:15pm- 4th Friday Free Form Fight Night

Four improv teams compete against each other in hilarious head-to-head battles with the winners facing off to be crowned the monthly improv victor! The audience decides who moves on to the next round, and chooses the champion.

 Saturday, January 27th

7:30pm – Family-Friendly Improv Show with Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed

 9:30pm – UNCENSORED Improv Show with Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed

Leave the kids at home for this one. NBOJU will take UNFILTERED suggestions from the audience and turn them into comedy scenes and games that are seen only once. Every show is different, because the UNFILTERED suggestions are always different!

 Look for giveaways, surprises, and local Food Trucks (5:30-7:15 Friday & Saturday) all weekend long! #UnscrewedImprov

 Unscrewed Theater is located at 3244 E. Speedway Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85716 (across from The Loft Cinema, next to Fronomo’s). Parking and entrance are located in the rear of the building. Turn in to the Walgreen’s parking lot and go to the left around the building.

 As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Unscrewed Theater is community-based and offers live performances, classes and produces all forms of live improvisational theater in Tucson, AZ.”

Carolyn Classen
Carolyn Sugiyama Classen, a life long Democrat, was born & raised in the State of Hawaii, was a Legislative Aide for U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye on Capitol Hill, and practiced law for a while. In Tucson she worked as a tribal staff attorney for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and later was the Interim Executive Director of the now defunct Domestic Violence Commission. In 2008 she became a “My Tucson” guest columnist for the Tucson Citizen newspaper, then continued blogging for Tucsoncitizen.com for over four and a half years. Her blogsite was entitled “Carolyn’s Community” about community events and some political news, until Gannett Publishing shut down the site on January 31, 2014. She started with Blog for Arizona on Feb. 11, 2014. Part time she has been sitting as a Hearing Officer in Pima County Consolidated Justice Courts Small Claims Division since April, 2005. She is married to University of Arizona Distinguished Professor Albrecht Classen, a native of Germany. They have one son, who lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and daughter. She is also the Editor of the Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition website, www.southernazjapan.org (since Jan. 2013).
