FAUX News Fraudcasting hosted the third episode of "Survivor – GOP Presidential Primary" debate last night from Ames, Iowa. There was so much crazy to be had, where to begin?
It really can be boiled down to a single question that was posed to the candidates asking them: "Would you raise your hand if you feel so strongly about not raising taxes you would walk away from a deal with a 10 to 1 ratio" in spending cuts versus tax increases.
The Republican Party has been reduced to a cult that adheres to a single commandment from their Lord and Master Grover Norquist: "no new taxes" – ever.
The American people overwhelmingly support raising taxes on the wealthy. Bruce Bartlett, a veteran of the Reagan and Bush administrations, has an updated list of 23 polls — all from the last nine months — which all show the same thing: consistent support from the American mainstream for higher taxes. The list isn’t selected — Bruce highlights (and links to) every poll he could find on this, and in each case, the margin was about 2-to-1 in support of tax increases for the wealthy.
No serious person believes you can reduce deficit spending with spending cuts alone, it will require new tax revenues. Tea-Publican deficit peacocks are not serious about deficit reduction. They intend to continue to run deficits by borrowing money to pay for tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy.
The GOP presidential candidates are unserious, and unfit to govern.
