Update: Tea-Publicans ‘All In’ for Ryan Express Trainwreck

As I posted the other day, Tea-Publicans 'All In' for Ryan Express Trainwreck:

"You want to get crazy? Let's get crazy!" That seems to be the emotional maturity of Tea-Publicans.

The L A Times reports that the TanMan, the Weeper of The House, and the House Tea-Publican Caucus are "all in" for Ryan's Express to a certain trainwreck. Boehner on board with Ryan's Medicare plan:

[M]any Republicans have been reluctant to publicly take a position on the blueprint, knowing that their words will most likely be used against them in next year’s elections.

Count on it, Baby! When retirees and near retirees learn that Tea-Publicans voted to destroy Medicare, one of the most popular government programs ever, and leave them to the tender mercies of greed-head insurance companies that will not cover their medical expenses, there is going to be hell to pay in 2012.

On Friday, these Tea-Publicans were forced to publicly take a position on the Ryan Express trainwreck, and thereby sealed their electoral defeat in 2012. Jed Lewison at Daily Kos reports It's official: House GOP passes plan to end Medicare, cut taxes on millionaires:

In lockstep, House Republicans have walked over the edge of the cliff and put themselves on record supporting the repeal of Medicare while extending trillions of dollars in tax breaks to millionaires.

By a vote of 235-193, with all but 4 Republicans voting in favor and unified opposition from Democrats, the House approved Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan's 2012 budget plan. As you know, the Ryan plan would end Medicare as we know it, replacing it with subsidies for private insurance and it would simultaneously spend trillions of dollars to reduce tax rates on the wealthiest Americans. And now it is the official position of the GOP.

Here's a link to the roll call.

GOP no votes [only 4] are Rehberg, McKinley, Jones, and Paul.

UPDATE: Charlie Cook compared the GOP's Medicare-repeal plan to a political death wish.

Just think of all those teabaggers who opposed the Obama Health Care Plan shouting "keep your hands off my Medicare!" The Ryan plan would end Medicare as they know it. And this week teabaggers also learned that the GOP lied to them last November about the Democratic cuts to Medicare providers (not beneficiaries). House GOP reverses its field on cuts to Medicare:

House Republicans are supporting nearly $450 billion in Medicare cuts that they criticized vigorously last fall after Democrats and President Obama passed them as part of their controversial health-care law.

The cuts are included in the 2012 budget that Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., unveiled last week and account for a significant share of the $5.8 trillion in claimed savings over the next decade.

* * *

Ryan's spokesman, Conor Sweeney, said the cuts are virtually the only part of "Obamacare" – the term that Republicans use derisively to describe the health-care law enacted last year – that the Wisconsin Republican preserved when he drafted his budget.

The Tea-Publicans have turned on their crazy base. The Ryan Express is a certain trainwreck.
