In their cross-country tour of five major battleground states since becoming a ticket earlier this week, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz landed at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor this evening (August 8, 2024.)

The Vice President was greeted at the airport by Attorney General Kris Mayes, Ms. Maye’s daughter Hattie, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, Mesa Mayor John Giles, and Congressman Greg Stanton.
Mayes told journalists after the event that she brought her daughter so she could see the future first woman President of the United States.
Harris and Walz will attend an early evening rally at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale tomorrow, August 9.
A crowd of at least 10,000 people is expected.
The battle for Arizona has only intensified since the Vice President took over the top of the ticket from President Joe Biden three weeks ago.
The Cook Political Report which had rated Arizona as lean Republican has shifted its forecast of the Grand Canyon state (along with Nevada and Georgia) to toss up thanks to the Harris/Walz surge and the Trump/Vance implosion.
After Arizona, Harris and Walz will journey to Nevada for a Saturday rally and eventually travel to Georgia and North Carolina once the harsh weather from Tropical Storm Debby subsides.
