Watch Some of the Latest Pro Democratic and Progressive Podcasts

Hi Everyone.

Please take a look at AOC, with Bernie Sander, describing her political career and thoughts about the future.

Listen to advocates like the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin, Third Way’s Jim Kessler, Democracy Docket’s Marc Elias, Medias Touch’s Ron Filipkowski, and The Lincoln Project’s Rick Wilson discuss the next steps Democrats should take in pushing back against MAGA/Trumpism.

There is also a bonus video from JoJofromJerz that is an excellent parody of the looming MAGA civil war between the Trump base and his billionaire DOGE backers Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy over HB1 Visas and Immigration.

These are very hopeful New Years messages on how Democrats and Progressives can move forward and start to regain support of the working and middle class families that have been hoodwinked by lying Trump/MAGA talking points.

  1. The first part of the Lincoln Project podcast is worth listening to. Ron Filipkowski – the Editor-in-Chief of MeidasTouch – and host Rick Wilson hit the nail on the head.

As right-wingers were being kicked off social media, they created their own information ecosystem, like Joe Rogan getting 50 million views. Dems were stuck in their elitist bicoastal urban bubbles and they don’t venture out much.  Trump reached an audience of millions of people who are not political people — they’re sports people, and he reached them with right-wing disinformation like that Jan 6 was created by the FBI.

Right wingers network constantly, they have conferences, CPAC, Turning Point USA. Democrats have none of these things. This is why they’re losing.  Republicans organized through social media to put stickers on the gas pumps, the Joe Biden sticker saying, I did that. What were Dems doing? After three months, they put out a 14-point bullet point policy paper as to why gas prices went up.

  2. The Jen Rubin Podcast with Jim Kessler is useful. We Dems forgot to listen before the election. Kamala was preaching joy and positivity, while voters were feeling the opposite. Voters feared crime (shoplifting), gas prices, cereal prices, and immigration. Meanwhile, Dems were talking about things voters understood little about — the infrastructure bill, the Chips and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

Dems represented college-educated white people who didn’t face the issues that most voters did. Dems focused on issues of the future, like investing in schools and infrastructure — which were way over the heads of voters. Voters responded to emotional issues — like Kamala’s past support of rights for transgender people.

Also, Dems need to be interviewed on adversarial news outlets like Fox and Joe Rogan, which were watched by a lot of voters.

  3. I was disappointed with the podcast by AOC and Bernie. All they did was talk about themselves, their careers, WWI, 1936, etc. They mentioned abortion and climate change, but these were not winning issues for Democrats. At the very end AOC said she’d still fight for unions, healthcare, wages and ending war. This is nice, but those issues didn’t win the election. What mattered in the election is that prices are 30% higher than four years ago, and that voters are tired of Democrats as the party of political correctness.
