On October 7, 2023 the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson hosted a candidate forum at Miller-Golf Links library (9640 E. Golf Links Rd.) for the 4 candidates running for Mayor of Tucson in November:
Ed Ackerley, Independent;
Arthur Kerschen, Libertarian;
Regina Romero, Democrat, one term incumbent;
Janet Wittenbraker, Republican.

Ackerley ran for this seat 4 years ago and lost 39.4 % to Romero’s 55.9%. So this is a rematch between these 2 candidates. Kerschen and Wittenbraker are political newcomers. Romero served for 12 years as the Ward 1 Councilmember prior to running for Mayor.
Vote wisely on or before Nov. 7, 2023. Early ballots go out tomorrow.

Thank you for your excellent reporting!
I’ve been here at Blog for Arizona since Feb. 2014 and try to keep our readers up to date on the local elections esp. the candidate forums. Since early ballots went out yesterday, it’s timely to know whom to vote for and what the various propositions are about. Thanks again for reading B4AZ. And I enjoy doing the Calendar,informing readers of progressive events.
Please revise the punctuation I’m your LOWV story about the mayoral
candidates. The way it reads now, Regina Romero is a libertarian!
Thanks Julie for noticing that on the front page of this article. I was traveling and had no access to a laptop and my tablet has somehow frozen out any editing except for comments. Fixed now. Appreciate your letting me know.
