Democratic Diva is on the story of the debate-ducking Republicans with more names.
Ben Quayle has yet to agree to a debate with his CD3 opponent Jon Hulburd and is shying away from the press. Ditto Paul Gosar of CD1 and Jesse Kelly of CD8. State Senate candidate (LD17) Wendy Rogers was a no-show at the Clean Elections Debate last week. She wasn’t required since she’s not publicly funded, but still.
Diva's list doesn't include Carl Seel, noted in the previous post, who didn't show up for his Clean Elections debate. And he was required to, since he's running clean — unless the Clean Elections folks make a ruling and yank his funding.
The Diva quoted my comment about why Rs are ducking face-to-face encounters with their D opponents — "The Republicans’ message won’t stand up to scrutiny." — and took it one step further.
Sure, plain cowardice plays a big role in this but their evasions also reek with a palpable stench of arrogant entitlement.
"A palpable stench of arrogant entitlement." Damn, I wish I'd written that! (Jealousy is one of the sincerest forms of flattery.)

“A palpable stench of arrogant entitlement.”
And contempt for the voters, I might add.
