Arizona Republic: In our mailbag.
In a week that sees the indictment of Republican Congressman Dick Renzi on the 22nd, the Republic reports that as of March 1st "in our mailbag were 36 letters on immigration; Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz., 16." A whole week to respond to Renzigate, and what are the Republic’s editorial cranks writing about by a margin of 2 to 1?
You want to bet that every letter on immigrants came from a Republican and every letter on Renzi was a defense of Renzi? Easy to see what’s really important to the AZ GOP’s editorial letter writing crew. Bashing immigrants? You bet! Embezzling and Extorting Republican Congresscriminal? Not so much…
Here’s an example of brilliant rhetoric of the AZ GOP’s crack crew of scribblers:
"I’m not sure why Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz., should resign. The FBI
didn’t find $90,000 in his freezer, did they (see Rep. William
Jefferson, D-La.)? – Joe Miller,Phoenix"
