While likely 2026 Arizona Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Andy Biggs spends his days supporting denialism with the 2020 election results, condoning obstructionism regarding the release of the Epstein files, and spending quality time with Arizona’s lowest and most racist, Arizona’s current Governor Katie Hobb’s has spent the last week championing Arizona’s Promise, defending Democracy, showcasing her attempts to lower utility costs for Arizonans, promoting public safety, and advancing her ideas to save the state coffers money by enhancing program efficiency.
Last week, in response to Trump’s F.B.I., with the assistance of the Arizona Republican Senate President, taking Maricopa County voting records from 2020, Governor Hobbs isssued a statement that read:
“Arizonans are tired of election conspiracies and lies that undermine our democracy. Arizona’s elections are free, fair, and secure, which numerous lawsuits and even the Arizona Senate’s ‘audit’ into the 2020 election results have confirmed. The FBI’s reckless actions are an attack on Arizonans and undermine our rights as voters. I protected our democracy as Secretary of State, and I will always stand up against election deniers and fight to protect the integrity of Arizona’s elections.”
She took her message to MSNOW, saying she beat an election denier (Kari Lake in 2022) and would do so again with either Biggs or David Schweikert.

During trips to Tucson, Mesa, and Phoenix, the Governor touted her Efficiency and POWER programs that have helped qualified applicants reduce their utility costs and weatherize their homes.
After visiting a Tucson resident, the Governor posted a social media video, championing her program, saying:
“Thanks to my administration’s weatherization assistance program, Hoya’s home now has improved insulation, better cooling, and energy-efficient upgrades that will help lower her utility bills and keep her home safer during hotter seasons. All Arizonans deserve affordable and reliable energy, and that’s why my Arizona Affordability Fund is prioritizing funding projects like these into the future.
Through PowerAZ, we’re investing $5 million to expand weatherization support so hundreds more households across our state can save money and stay safe. Together, we are making Arizona more affordable and more sustainable for everyone.”
Speaking to reporters in Mesa after touring a New Leafs facility, the Governor said:
“…It’s not just about utilities. So many people are faced with making these choices of, I have all these bills and I can only pay some of them, what do I pay? And so the utility assistance then helps people afford rent or afford groceries or whatever, but we need all of these programs. They’re all vital.
Energy costs are going up and that’s only going to get worse as we bring on, you know, more and more manufacturing that high, low users, which is why I launched the energy task force, which I am eagerly awaiting their report and recommendations. And I know in my conversations with utility leaders, it’s a big concern for them. Their top priority is making sure that electricity stays affordable for households and for existing customers.
And it’s a challenge that we all have to tackle together. And by that task force and their recommendations are going to be really important moving forward to ensure that energy stays affordable for Arizonans who need it.”
With Phoenix residents who have taken advantage of the rebates in the Governor’s Efficiency Arizona Program by getting a new water heater that will save them utility costs, Hobbs said:
“This program is helping families across our state lower energy costs and make their homes more comfortable and efficient…Together, we’re making Arizona more affordable for working families.”

The Governor also worked to improve public safety on the states roads by directing $1,000,000 from efficiency savings to pay for 14,000 hours of overtime for state troopers, saying in a press release:
“Our Arizona State Troopers work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, often going above and beyond the call of duty. I’m proud to work with Colonel Glover and the Department of Public Safety to immediately expand trooper overtime pay and deliver critical support to our State Troopers for the remainder of this fiscal year without new general fund spending. Together, we are ensuring the brave men and women at DPS have the manpower they need to keep our communities safe.”
Finally, the Governor launched the Arizona Capacity and Efficiency (ACE) Initiative last week.
This plan would, per a Gubernatorial Press Release:
- Save Money: Consolidate state purchasing power to secure bulk-discounts and reduce waste.
- Simplify Operations: Standardize administrative services and technology to cut costly overlap.
- Strengthen with Technology: Adopt AI and emerging technologies to optimize services and boost workforce productivity.
Commenting on the new initiative, Governor Hobbs offered in a press release:
“Arizona families make daily sacrifices to stretch every dollar. The state government must do the same. To achieve the Arizona Promise, we need to strengthen the capacity of the state to administer programs more efficiently. Every dollar lost to redundant contracts or technology is a dollar taken away from schools, roads, public safety, and ultimately Arizona families. We are making government work better for the people of Arizona.”
