While Scrooge Trump Parties With the Filthy Rich, Health Care Insurance Rates Just Jumped Up for Millions

It is November 1, the day after Halloween and it is not trick or treat for millions of people in the United States as Affordable Care/Obamacare health insurance rates have just jumped up thanks to Grinch/Scrooge Donald Trump and his Project 2025 MAGA Republican allies in Congress who pushed through the repeal of Biden/Harris Era subsidies to the program in order to justify unneeded tax cuts for billionaires and then propelled this country into a government shutdown rather than negotiate with Democrats to restore them.

Furthermore, millions of Americans, including many that just saw their health insurance rates skyrocket, have seen the disappearance of their food assistance SNAP benefits either because of MAGA cuts in the Big Billionaires First Bill or Marie “Let Them Starve” Trump refusing to allow contingency funds to flow into people’s EBT accounts.

On the health insurance rates going up, Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego posted below what a typical family of four could face now that the Biden/Harris subsidies are gone:

In his presentation, the Senator said:

“Well, it’s November 1, and we are now dealing with a reality. This is what you were paying for health insurance in Arizona for an Imperial Standard Bronze Plan. It was $514 a month, roughly. Not bad. This is for a family of four in Arizona. Now, because the Republicans didn’t act, we’re looking at a monthly increase of $2435. So what you’re essentially seeing is a family going to have to make a really hard decision, right. Because most families can’t actually take about a thousand nine hundred dollar hit. I got the math wrong overnight. So they’re going to make a decision either a they’re going to have to find a worse plan, which means probably a higher deductibles, or they’re just not going to buy, And I’m going to take the chance that nobody gets severely sick this year. This is the choice and the situation that the Republicans have put Arizona voters in right now, because instead of actually dealing with this cliff that we were telling them about forever, that would have stopped the premiums doubling for hundreds of thousands of Arizona, and so they’ve decided that this is situation we live in. So now, this is the number that’s locked in. Now, starting today, November 1st until December. Republicans have probably a couple more steps and chances to save this and save this Arizona family thousands of dollars, but they actually need to act quickly, because right now, what you’re going to see is hundreds of thousands of Arizona families make it some really tough decisions because Republicans cannot make any decisions at all.”

And what is Scrooge Donald Trump doing while people’s health insurance rates go through the roof and they do not have the money to put food on the table?

Partying with the filthy rich at Mara Largo like a scene, as California Governor Gavin Newsom noted in a post, from the Great Gatsby.

Newsom was right about Trump in his post.

He “does not give a damn about you.”

And neither do the Project 2025 MAGA Republicans, like Juan Ciscomani, who continue the government shutdown of their making and ignore negotiating with Democrats.

In a Halloween press release calling out Ciscomani for hiding from his constituents while their health care rates spike and their food assistance disappears, Democratic Arizona Congressional District Six Candidate JoAnna Mendoza wrote:

JoAnna Mendoza

“I understand what SNAP means to Arizona families. Without it, I wouldn’t have grown up healthy and strong enough to serve our country for twenty years. I’m appalled that, starting tomorrow, more than 900,000 Arizonans may not be able to put food on the table because DC politicians can’t come to an agreement.

“It’s shameful that our so-called representative, Juan Ciscomani, is letting thousands go hungry because he doesn’t have the spine to stand up to party leaders. And thousands more Arizonans could lose their health insurance because Ciscomani chose to fund tax breaks for billionaires over lifesaving care.

“Ciscomani could speak up. He could push the White House to release emergency funding to keep families fed. He could insist Republicans go back to Washington and make a deal – but he has chosen to stay home, follow orders, and point the finger.

“That’s not leadership; that’s cowardice.

“Arizonans deserve a leader who has the political courage to put us – not DC party bosses – first.”
