Who’s running for TUSD Governing Board in 2026?

Pima County School Superintendent’s office has just issued official list of who submitted nomination petitions to be on the Nov. 3rd General Election ballot for school district governing boards. Deadline was 5 p.m. on July 6, 2026.

Tucson Unified candidates (2 seats)

  • Jennifer Eckstrom, incumbent, former Mayor of South Tucson, daughter of retired District 2 Pima County Supervisor Dan Eckstrom (D)
  • Skye Fernandez
  • Tre’Davon Rhodes
  • Val Romero, incumbent, also ran before for Ward 6 Council seat and District 5 Pima County Supervisor (as Independent)
  • Pilar Acosta Ruiz, ran before for this seat in Nov. 2024
