Why Hasn’t This National Security Risk Been Removed From His Senate Committee Assignments?

Earlier this year, the House voted to remove the “QAnon Queen,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, from her committee assignments so she could collect a congressional paycheck and devote herself full-time to being a racist conspiratorial troll (your tax dollars at work).  She should have been expelled from Congress, but that would take Republican votes, and these losers are still protecting this loathsome woman for some inexplicable reason.

In the Senate, there is an equally loathsome “QAnon” senator who represents a national security risk because he sits on the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Foreign Relations Committee, among others – Putin’s “useful idiot” in the Senate, Wisconsin Senator “RonAnon” Johnson. He is the intellectual equal to Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), the stupidest member of Congress.

When he is not carrying water for Vladimir Putin or spouting some crazy-ass “Qanon” conspiracy theory, Johnson is defending white nationalist insurrectionists for sedition – their failed MAGA/QAnon cult coup d’etat on January 6 to overthrow the U.S. Government and install their cult leader Donald Trump as the first fascist dictator of a banana republic United States. And Johnson wears his racism towards Black Americans on his sleeve.

CNN reports, Ron Johnson says he might have been concerned for safety had Capitol rioters been BLM and Antifa:

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson on Thursday invoked race in explaining his sense of safety during the January 6 Capitol riot, saying that he might have been concerned for his well-being had the protesters been affiliated with Black Lives Matter instead of being a largely White pro-Trump crowd.

Has it occurred to anyone that “Ronan” Johnson might have been one of the congressional insiders giving aid and support to the MAGA/QAnon cult coup d’etat attempt on January 6? 18 U.S. Code § 2383 – Rebellion or insurrection. There are many reasons for the FBI to investigate him, this is but one reason.

“Even though those thousands of people that were marching to the Capitol were trying to pressure people like me to vote the way they wanted me to vote, I knew those were people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, and so I wasn’t concerned,” Johnson said during the radio talk show “The Joe Pags Show.” He was discussing his recent comments downplaying the danger that day and he has said he “never really felt threatened.”

What a crock of shit. The MAGA/QAnon cult members were engaged in sedition and insurrection, seeking to overthrow the U.S. Government and install their cult leader Donald Trump as the first fascist dictator of a banana republic United States. They were domestic terrorists who do not love their country or democracy. More Than 140 Officers Injured In Capitol Riot, Chiefs Testify, and one died as a result of his injuries. Several domestic terrorist organizations, including the Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, and Proud Boys had members from law enforcement who were there in the Capitol engaged in “blue on blue” violence. They did not respect law enforcement. At least 31 police officers are under investigation over their suspected involvement in the Capitol riot, as departments face pressure to weed out white nationalists. Even the Capitol Police may have had some insiders assisting the domestic terrorists. 6 Capitol Police officers suspended, 29 others being investigated for alleged roles in riot. The MAGA/QAnon rioters were engaged in multiple felonies, they were not peaceful law abiding citizens.

“Now, had the tables been turned — Joe, this could get me in trouble — had the tables been turned, and President Trump won the election and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned,” Johnson continued.

Here’s your white sheet, you overtly racist asshole.

Many conservatives have sought to draw a false equivalency between the events of January 6 and the unrest that took place over the summer in the wake of several high-profile police killings of Black Americans. Although there were incidents of violence and property destruction last summer, the January riot at the Capitol resulted in five deaths, including a Capitol Police officer, and more than 140 other police officers were injured.

More importantly, the MAGA/QAnon riot was a violent seditious insurrection and a coup d’etat to overthrow the U.S. Government and install their cult leader Donald Trump as the first fascist dictator of a banana republic United States. No Black Lives Matter protestors sought to overthrow the U.S. government, and the right-wing’s favorite bogeyman antifa was not present at the Capitol on January 6. FBI director says Capitol assault ‘domestic terrorism,’ no evidence of antifa.

The Justice Department is preparing some of the first guilty plea offers for people who were subsequently charged in the investigation, which has been called one of the “largest in American history,” with more than 400 possible defendants.

Johnson has repeatedly made incendiary comments mischaracterizing the riots. Last month, Johnson said that he didn’t believe that what had happened at the Capitol was an “armed insurrection,” despite court records indicating that supporters of then-President Donald Trump had brought dozens of weapons to Washington on the day of the insurrection, according to the Justice Department.

Later in February, Johnson advanced the conspiracy theory that there had been professional provocateurs within the mob at the Capitol. The FBI has said there is no evidence that Antifa or any other groups of leftist instigators were part of the January 6 crowd — much less were the ones inciting violence — and nearly a dozen Trump supporters charged in connection with the insurrection have said that such groups weren’t involved in the attack. Many of the people arrested identify with far-right groups like the Oath Keepers, not with any groups on the far left.

Chris Cillizza writes, Ron Johnson’s latest comments are just straight-out racist:

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson is very good at one thing: Making comments that are, at best, ill-informed and at worst, racist and/or dangerous.

He’s suggested Speaker Nancy Pelosi was somehow behind the January 6 riot at the US Capitol. He’s said the riot wasn’t actually an “armed insurrection.” He’s suggested that there were professional protesters stirring up the problems that day and that they might have been affiliated with radical leftist groups. He said a year ago that the economy had to fully re-open in spite of the coronavirus. And, he’s insisted that the deaths from the virus are necessary sacrifices to keep the economy up and running.

And late last week, Johnson did it again. Again.

Here’s Johnson on with conservative talk radio host Joe Pags :

“Even though those thousands of people that were marching to the Capitol were trying to pressure people like me to vote the way they wanted me to vote, I knew those were people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, and so I wasn’t concerned…

” … Now, had the tables been turned — Joe, this could get me in trouble — had the tables been turned, and President Trump won the election and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned.”

(Sidebar: If you hear yourself saying “this could get me in trouble,” stop speaking. Immediately. Just close your mouth mid-sentence. Trust me on this.)

Now, what ever could be the difference between the rioters that stormed the Capitol and those who populated the Black Lives Matter protests over the summer? What. Could. It. Be.

It certainly wasn’t the level of violence exhibited by the two groups. Because the US Capitol riot left five people dead and dozens more injured, with images and videos emerging in the aftermath of rioters attacking police officers, a gallows being constructed in front of the Capitol building and people chanting things like “Hang Mike Pence.”

And of course, only one of the two groups actually penetrated one of the most prominent symbols of the democracy in this country, ransacking it in the process.

But Johnson said he “never really felt threatened” even as rioters were pouring into the Capitol because they were “people that love this country” and “that truly respect law enforcement.” (Johnson must have missed all of the footage of rioters attacking the police — both physically and verbally.)

So what could the difference be then? Since it seems that, on every measure, that the riot at the US Capitol was far more dangerous?

Simple: The vast majority of rioters on January 6 were White. The crowds at the Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020 were not predominantly White. That’s it. That’s the difference Johnson is talking about.

He wasn’t worried about being in danger from the demonstrably dangerous group of rioters on January 6 because they, like him, were White. But he would have been worried if it was the(mostly peaceful) demonstrators at the BLM rallies because they were Black.

That double standard is striking — and informed by racist stereotyping. That it was uttered by a sitting US senator is shameful.

RonAnon” Johnson is making noises that he will not seek reelection in 2022. Why wait? He should resign today. Barring his resignation, the Senate should remove him from his committee assignments because he has long been a national security risk.

Now we know he is overtly racist as well, and supports white nationalist domestic terrorists who engaged in  the failed MAGA/QAnon cult coup d’etat on January 6 to overthrow the U.S. Government and install their cult leader Donald Trump as the first fascist dictator of a banana republic United States.

The citizens of Wisconsin owe the rest of America an apology for electing this racist moron to the Senate.

UPDATE: The Associated Press reports that “RonAnon” Johnson on Monday went on WISN-AM and explained that not only was he not racist, his racist statement wasn’t even racist. “It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with riots. I completely did not anticipate that anybody could interpret what I said as racist. It’s not.” Demonstrating, once again, that  he is a moron.
