Aqua Buddha makes a complete ass-hat of himself

"Tony: It's no use, the man is a complete idiot.

Village Idiot: If only. Now my father, he was a complete idiot. I'm still a half-wit."

– TV Mini-Series "The 10th Kingdom" (2000)

Ass-hatThis is the only memorable line I ever remember from this TV show, but I am reminded of it every time I hear that village idiot Aqua Buddha, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) open his mouth and speak. The stupid, it burns.

Aqua Buddha was making a complete ass-hat of himself today during the "show trial" Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that FAUX News Fraudcasting has hyped into right-wing hysteria. Secretary Clinton maintains diplomatic composure in face of posturing by McCain, Johnson and Paul:

And then there was Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican who pretends he is
a libertarian when it suits his purposes and something else when it
doesn't. No doubt thinking of his stature among tea partiers if he
actually seeks the presidency three years from now, he sent out a video
of his questioning of Clinton during which he said:

"I'm glad that you're accepting responsibility. I think
ultimately with your leaving that you accept the culpability for the
worst tragedy since 9/11. And I really mean that. Had I been president
and found you did not read the cables from Benghazi and from Ambassador
Stevens, I would have relieved you of your post. I think it's
inexcusable."

Secretary Clinton had some help with that one. Democratic Sen. Chris
Murphy of Connecticut fumed: "If some people on this committee want to
call this tragedy the worst since 9/11, it misunderstands the nature of
4,000 plus Americans lost in the War in Iraq under false pretenses."

Not to mention the tens of thousands of Iraqis who were killed as a
consequence of that concocted war
. Who lost their jobs at the State
Department or anywhere else over that?

Certainly not Neocon war monger Senator "Surge," John McCain. Aqua Buddha did not get all huffy with his new buddy McCain, who was the Washington, D.C. patron of Ahmed Chalabi and the Iraqi National Congress that fabricated the "intelligence" for war with Iraq. If this arrogant little prick wants someone held accountable, let's start with George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, et al., in the Bush-Cheney regime, Congress and the propaganda media. Form a war crimes tribunal under The Nuremberg Principles, or STFU.

But wait, there's more! Aqua Buddha is spending way too much time hanging out with his batshit crazy buddy Glenn Beck and his wild conspiracy theories again. GOP Senator Pushes Gun-Running Conspiracy Theory During Benghazi Hearing:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) used today’s hearing on the Benghazi attack to
confront Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about a conspiracy theory
involving moving guns from Libya to Syrian rebels.

* * *

After informing Secretary Clinton that he would have fired her for
her role in the response to the attack, Paul came seemingly out of
nowhere to ask Clinton about Turkey. “Is the U.S. involved with any
procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow
transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?” he asked.

A clearly confused Clinton responded to the best of her ability:

CLINTON: To Turkey? I will have to take that question for the record. Nobody has ever raised that with me.

PAUL: It’s been in news reports that ships have been leaving
from Libya and that they may have weapons and what I’d like to know is
the annex that was close by, were they involved with procuring, buying,
selling, obtaining weapons and were any of these weapons being
transferred to other countries, any countries, Turkey included?

Clinton responded that Paul would have to take up his question with “the agency running the annex,” an oblique reference to the fact that the Central Intelligence Agency was operating out of the building in question. Paul’s inquiry about Turkey seems less odd if you’re familiar with Glenn Beck-inspired conspiracy theories that have been circulating among right-wing websites since the attacks in Libya.

The theory goes that Ambassador Chris Stevens — who was killed during the attack — was deeply involved
in the CIA project of gathering loose arms in Libya in the aftermath of
Moammar Qaddafi’s downfall. Stevens then facilitated the movement of those arms
from Libya to Turkey, where they then went on to Syria. The secrecy
involved in moving those weapons under the table is part of why the
Obama administration covered up the truth of the attack, according to
the [conspiracy] theory, which even Fox News has helped spread.

The Obama administration has repeatedly said that it will not be providing arms
to the rebels in Syria, which this theory claims to counter. While the
CIA was involved with helping round up the loose arms that were rampant
in Libya, there is no evidence that Stevens or the State Department was
involved in the operation, nor that the arms were then shipped to Syria.
That Sen. Paul would use his first hearing on the Foreign Relations
Committee to push this theory, despite the fact even if it were true it
would fall outside of Secretary Clinton’s purview, does not say great
things about his future on the body.

The real question is "Why is this village idiot even on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee?"

UPDATE: A former member of the foreign service agrees. Former Foreign Service Member: 'Asses' McCain and Paul Belong on Ag Committee Where They Can 'Dish Dirt' :

Following the Senate hearing, C-SPAN took a call from women named Sarah from Sterling, Virginia on the Democrats line.

"As a former member of the foreign service, I thought that Sen. Rand
Paul and Sen. John McCain made complete asses of themselves, if I can
use that word," Sarah volunteered. "They have no idea with regard to the
status of forces agreement and to what the role of the U.S. Marine
Corps is in embassies."

Sarah went on to explain that she had been stationed in a Middle East
country where American staff had only been provided one security guard
by the host country.

"The State Department has no control over that unless there is a
status of forces agreement that allows Marine security guards to step
out of their comfort zone," she continued.

"And Rand Paul has no idea, has no clue of what happens at an
American embassy. I suggest that he change committees and go over to the
Agriculture Committee, that's where you can dish dirt
. And that's
exactly what he did. He was a disgrace and he should not be on that
committee."
