RNCC launches fake ‘news’ sites

Remember back earlier this year when the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee (NRCC) set up fake mirror web sites for Democratic candidates?

Google actually slapped “phishing” warnings on those fraudulent web sites. Google slaps phishing warning on misleading GOP website.

I posted the legal analysis of Paul Ryan, Senior Counsel for the Campaign Legal Center, who explained that Those fake NRCC mirror web sites violate federal law.

gop-rat-partyWell, guess what? Those ethically challenged Ratfuckers at the RNCC (looking at you Daniel Scarpinato) are back at it again, this time setting up fake “news” sites to intentionally deceive voters.

National Journal reports, NRCC Launches Fake News Sites to Attack Democratic Candidates:

The National Republican Congressional Committee, which came under fire earlier this year for a deceptive series of fake Democratic candidate websites that it later changed after public outcry, has launched a new set of deceptive websites, this time designed to look like local news sources.

The NRCC has created about two dozen of these new faux news sites targeting Democrats, both challengers and incumbents, and is promoting them across the country with localized Google search ads.

Anti-Obama hatred is hurting . . . the GOP

The Arizona Republic has a report today about how Tea-Publicans have convinced themselves that running against “that Black man in the White House” is their best ticket to success in 2014. GOP rivals use Obama as weapon in primary:

tea-party-crazyInvoking Obama’s name and likeness has become a favorite tool to attack opponents in Republican primaries. Even when they are races for offices that have no contact with the highest office in the land.

Campaigns competing in races for the Legislature, the Corporation Commission and governor — and the independent expenditures supporting them — are all employing the tactic in mailers, campaign signs, TV commercials and endless debate rhetoric.

The rationale behind the strategy is clear: With Obama’s approval ratings hovering in the low 40 percent range, linking your opponent — no matter how tenuously — to an unpopular president might make you look better by contrast.

“It’s classic negative campaigning with often not even a shred of truth, and the anti-Obama fever is so strong in some circles that it’s poison,” state Sen. Bob Worsley said.

John Huppenthal flip-flopping his way to a defeat

flip-flopsOur sock-puppet blog troll “Thucky,” aka John Huppenthal, is in trouble again, this time for flip flopping on his support for the Common Core education standards.

Actually this isn’t something new for Thucky, he has been doing this for some time now. He changes his stance on Common Core depending upon the audience to whom he is speaking. Here is a report from the Mohave Daily News (April 10, 2014), State superintendent defends Common Core:

Arizona Supt. of Public Instruction John Huppenthal spoke to Mohave County Republicans Wednesday night discussing the Arizona Common Core Standards. The new standards, adopted in Arizona in 2010 and in 46 other states, will better prepare K-12 students for college in math and English language arts.

* * *

[Huppenthal] claimed that the tougher standards for math and English are a conservative victory and the culture of self-esteem or just passing students through the system has to change.

Fred DuVal Op-Ed: 5 Steps to a Fast-Growing Economy

Democratic candidate for governor Fred Duval had an “As I see it” op-ed in the Arizona Republic on Tuesday, Fred DuVal: 5 steps to a fast-growing economy:

Fred DuValHere’s a promise. When I am governor, I will veto any budget the Legislature sends me that cuts our schools. No more cuts to our children’s schools. Not another dollar; not another dime.

More cuts to our schools are bad for our kids and bad for the economy. Business leaders have told us that we need a stronger school system before they’ll invest here. And yet, our current leaders have done the opposite.

Arizona has cut our schools deeper than almost any state in the country. Adjusted for inflation, it’s more than 25 percent per student!

Our class sizes have ballooned.

We lose a third of our teachers every year.

We have the highest high-school dropout rate in the country.

We have the second-lowest percentage of children in early childhood education in the country.

It’s time to change this.
