In a series of social media posts from March 9 to March 11, 2022, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego recognized the first anniversary of the passage of the American Rescue Plan and relayed to local residents how the Biden/Harris-Democrats only passed program positively impacted the fifth largest city in the country.
Mayor Gallego highlighted how the American Rescue Plan helped Phoenix:
- Administer testing and COVID vaccinations.
- Assist small businesses.
- Provide comfort to the disadvantaged like homeless veterans.
- Promote workforce development and apprenticeship programs to help people transition to new jobs.
- Expand access to child care.
- Close the digital divide gap.
- Invest in vital infrastructure like recycling and stormwater projects.

Phoenix has used #AmericanRescuePlan funds to create a Workforce Wraparound/Apprentice Program to offer free training and education to residents who have been impacted by the pandemic in the hardest hit industries, to create a more resilient workforce for the future.
