This should not be a surprise to Arizonans by now.
The Republican members of the Arizona Congressional Delegation (Debbie Lesko, Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, and David Schweikert) have consistently voted against the people’s interests.
American Relief Plan: No way.
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law: Who needs safe roads and bridges. Who needs electric school buses or lead pipes removed?
Baby Formula: Not our problem after the child is born.
Prescription Drug Benefit for Diabetes patients: You are on your own. Try and decide whether to pay the rent or the drug that will keep you alive.
Yesterday, the Arizona Republican Congressional Delegation continued their betrayal of the American People by voting against the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act, a bill whose provisions could help reduce inflation. According to the Arizona Democratic Party, these measures included:
- “Increasing competition in the meat and poultry industries to prevent artificially high pricing.
- Making E15 fuel available year-round and encouraging production of biofuels.
- Making fertilizer more accessible to farmers to help lower produce costs.
- Creating a supply chain task force.”
On the Republicans refusal to support a bill that could have reduced food and fuel costs, Arizona Democratic Party spokesperson Aida Ross wrote:
“While Arizona Democrats are laser focused on lowering costs, today’s vote shows once again that many Republicans are more interested in inflicting their extreme, ultra-MAGA agenda than fighting the effects of inflation. Democrats passed this bill to help lower prices at the pump and cut costs for Arizonans at the supermarket — and Representatives Biggs, Gosar, Lesko, and Schweikert’s votes against this bill is yet another example of Republicans voting against the interests of working Arizonans.”
Make no mistake.
Republicans have no meritorious plans to help the American People live and thrive.
They certainly have no credible ideas on how to reduce inflation.
Along with their past record on voting against most conceivable measures to move the country forward, lift people up, and protect the American Ideal, the former party of Lincoln continues to prove they are not worthy of governing.
Voters need to remember that when voting for local, county, state, and federal office holders this November.
Vote for the candidates that will protect you and Democracy, not the one that has nothing but fringe extremist realities to offer and betrays the people’s interests every chance they get.
