Arizona’s struggling economy and how to cure what ails us

The headline in the Arizona Daily Star today from an AP report reads 32 states trail US as a whole in job recovery. The AP graphic the Star did not provide is posted to the right. You will note that most of the states that lag are “red states” with Tea-Publican governors and/or Tea-Publican controlled state legislatures. They have been holding back, if not sabotaging economic recovery.

As I have previously posted, Gov. Brewer’s ‘Arizona Comeback’ is a lie. If Arizona is not participating in the national economic recovery, it is because we have an ideologically extreme Tea-Publican legislature which has blind faith in the entirely discredited and disproved supply-side “trickle down” GOP economics. (Update) Arizona’s lost decade due to GOP magical thinking and fiscal mismanagement of the state. If the magical thinking of faith based supply-side “trickle down” economics actually worked, Arizona would have full employment and a booming economy right now.

If Arizona is ever going to escape its economic morass, Arizonans must first vote Tea-Publicans and their quasi-religious cult of supply-side “trickle down” GOP economics out of office. Arizonans need to elect Democrats to office from top to bottom of the ballot this November. To continue returning Tea-Publicans to office is the very definition of insanity, and constitutes economic suicide.
