Ayn Rand fanboy, Paul Ryan, wants to trade ‘ObamaCare’ hostage for Social Security and Medicare

Tea Party
Remember the Dick Armey of FreedomWorks' gray-haired geezers living on social security and Medicare (some of them double-dipping into Medicaid and the purely "socialist" Veterans Administration health care system) carrying signs during the debate over "ObamaCare," saying in various forms "Keep your government hands off my Medicare"?

These same deeply delusional and misinformed individuals, who reside in the alternate reality of the conservative media entertainment complex feedback loop, are the minority of supporters for the Tea Party economic terrorists taking America hostage and shutting down the government, and threatening to default on the U.S. debt if they do not get their ransom demand: the repeal or defunding of "ObamaCare." Only Tea Party approves shutdown, poll shows.

But "ObamaCare" has never been the real object of Tea-Publicans in Congress. Just last week the TanMan, Weeper of the House John Boehner, suddenly revived talk of a "grand bargain" again — code words for cuts to social security and Medicare.

On Wednesday, the GOP's alleged boy genius, Ayn Rand fanboy Paul Ryan (R-WI), penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal laying out yet another iteration of his GOP "Roadmap to America's Ruin" budget focusing on cuts to "entitlements," i.e., social security and Medicare.

The congressman that Charles Pierce of Esquire refers to as "the zombie-eyed granny-starver from Wisconsin" did not even mention "ObamaCare" in his op-ed. Paul Ryan: Here's How We Can End This Stalemate:

EddieMunsterWe could provide relief from the discretionary spending levels in the Budget Control Act [i.e., the GOP Sequester] in exchange for structural reforms to entitlement programs.

Meanwhile, mandatory spending—which mostly consists of funding for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security—will grow by $1.6 trillion, or roughly 79%. The 2011 Budget Control Act largely ignored entitlement spending. But that is the nation's biggest challenge.

The "zombie-eyed granny-starver from Wisconsin" later in the day had to do damage control, saying that by "entitlements" he of course meant to include "ObamaCare" — much of which Ryan retains in his "Roadmap to America's Ruin" budget to achieve his budget numbers.

Remember, the Ryan Budget on which the Romney-Ryan GOP ticket ran in 2012 was rejected overwhelmingly by more than 5 million votes. Versions of the Ryan budget include turning Medicare into a "voucher" system which would leave seniors vulnerable to inflation and rising medical costs. And don't believe for an instant that Tea-Publicans have given up their dream of privatizing social security, as President George W. Bush tried and failed to do.

The conservative far-right has always wanted to end social security and Medicare from the inception of those programs with the same zeal they now show for ending "ObamaCare." The conservative far-right never stops plotting, never stops attacking.

The only mystery is why the gray-haired geezers living on social security and Medicare who are the base support of the radical Tea Party do not realize that they are whom the conservative far-right has in its sights to do harm. The Tea-Publicans are coming for your social security and Medicare, and for your childrens' social security and Medicare. As Samuel L. Jackson warned, "Wake The F#&k Up!"

Chris Hayes did a good segment on this on All In on Wednesday.
