AZ Democratic Party Alleges Constitutional Violations by the Independent Redistricting Committee Republican Members, Which AG Brnovich Will Surely Ignore

Charlie Fisher, the Executive Director of the AZDP, has written to Attorney General Brnovich asking him to investigate violations of the Arizona Consitution by members of the IRC:

“I write today, on behalf of the Arizona Democratic Party (“ADP”), to express our concern that (1) the Independent Redistricting Commission (“Commission”) violated the Arizona Constitution by illegally drawing at least three district lines to protect incumbent state senators, (2) certain members of the Commission violated Arizona’s Open Meeting Law and improperly used state resources and public funds, and (3) sitting State Senators and their staffs may have also improperly used state resources and public funds. ADP urges you, as Arizona’s chief law enforcement officer, to investigate these serious allegations that threaten the integrity of the redistricting process (and in turn, the legislative districts that will be in place for the next ten years) and take all appropriate action.”

Of course, we know that AG Brnovich is too busy chasing conspiracy theories about the perfectly fair and secure 2020 election at the behest of King Baby Coward, and abusing his own office for advantage in his Senate bid. So, nothing will come of it, but Fisher lays out the case against the thoroughly corrupt Republican Commissioner Mehl, and the Arizona legislators he conspired with, so clearly and completely, I decided to simply publish it here for all to see, and to shame the guilty.

  1. Why is the ADP wasting its time with asking AG “Nunchucks” to do an investigation everyone knows he will not do. It is already well established that he is a partisan hack and unethical attorney, there is nothing to be gained by gilding the lily. Hire Marc E. Elias’ law firm and just file a lawsuit already. As I recall, the Arizona Republican Party filed multiple lawsuits against the Redistricting Commission a decade ago, and lost every one of those lawsuits. Marc E. Elias has an impressive record of success in redistricting cases this year.
