1 thought on “Cartoon of The Week”

  1. I counted 5 cartoons that were about the inflation issue or off-handedly referenced it. Yet it is the most important issue in this election at all election levels. And the Dem strats have yet to devise an answer or at least some rhetoric to confront GOP accusations and blame re the inflation issue.

If the GOP strats had confronted this problem they would have quickly concocted a big lie or a lot of plausible smaller lies. It’s suspicious that they are already doing that.

Why haven’t the ‘Dem strats’ done that?

    WAIT!

They don’t even have to make up any lies!

Every break-away inflation has a trigger.

The current inflation is world-wide. (Remember econ 100 supply and demand?) The pandemic created an inflation-ready environment. Covid radically disrupted consumer demand. It also disrupted the world-wide supply-chain workforce.

The global pandemic created our global inflation-ready environment. But the Trump/GOP admin shaped our US inflation-trigger.

The ‘Trump/GOP admin’ botched the public health thing re limiting Covid damage to human health. We hold the world record for Covid deaths! That number and the number of cases and disabilities are twice what they should have been.

    1) The ‘Trump/GOP admin’ politicized all the major Covid public health measures. This made most of them far less effective in limiting human damage.

    2) Thus, the pandemic was free to create EXTRA havoc in the US supply-chain workforce. And it also created EXTRA volatility in the demand-side of our economy.

    3) Thus, the Trump/GOP admin added EXTRA supply-chain damage to the pandemic inflation-trigger. The trigger was damage to the workforce in manufacturing, food processing, ground cargo transportation, and seaport cargo transfer to and from trucks.

    4) The Trump/Biden stimulus payments ultimately revived the US economy.

    5) Then the GOP-enlarged US inflation-trigger “BOTTLE-NECKED” our supply-chain and triggered our current inflation.

That’s an explanation that might have worked if the Dem strats had been quick on the uptake of understanding this election environment. And it would have helped if they had any moxie or intuition re this election environment.

I despair about the effect of the outcome of this election on our future.
