David Safier sent me a link to research, and those of you who have expressed an interest in fighting the influence of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) on the Arizona Legislature may want to check out and bookmark this website to resist alec in arizona (AZ Resists ALEC) (excerpt from home page):

*Come to Phoenix from Novermber 30-December 2 to tell ALEC we will not allow them to further criminalize and oppress our communities in order to fatten the coffers of their corporate members.

*Organize an action in your community for November 30th.

*Keep checking the website for updates on information, events, and actions.

Who Are “We? We are students, teachers, caregivers, farmers, activists, volunteers. We are a collection of individuals who live in Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, and their surrounding communities. Although we do not fall under a single heading or organization, we are united by our anger at witnessing the devastating impacts ALEC-backed legislation and corporate profiteering have had on our communities. We’ve come together to stand as one against the further exploitation of our communities and we invite you to stand with us.
