City of Tucson primary election results

Only two contested Democratic races in the City of Tucson Council races held today August 1, 2023. Here’s the first unofficial votes posted on the City of Tucson Election Dept. website:

Lane Santa Cruz, incumbent 4423

Ward 2 Council

Paul Cunningham, incumbent 6331

Lisa Nutt 1891

Congratulations to the incumbents.

Running also in the General Election (on Nov. 7, 2023) are Democrats Mayor Regina Romero and Ward 4 Councilmember Nikki Lee. They all face Republican opposition. There are Libertarian candidates in the General Election in Ward 2 and against the Mayor. Mayor Romero is also in the rematch in the General against Independent Ed Ackerley.

    • Who said this? ” “There’s a fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats value as many people as possible voting, and they’re willing to risk fraud. Republicans are more concerned about fraud, so we don’t mind putting security measures in that won’t let everybody vote — but everybody shouldn’t be voting.”

      Why that was you Senor John “Cheques del Gobierno” Kavanagh. And now you’re whining about voter suppression? Bet you’re on board with the Ohio GOP shenanigans in making August special elections illegal and then making an exception for their own August suppression election raising the passing threshold to 60% for to get citizen initiatives on the ballot. All because they’re afraid their petty God will smite them if abortion is constitutionally protected in their state. GOP – Grand Old Poltroons.

    • Yup, it’s becoming a habit, to report on every Southern Az election. Wait till next year with so many offices up for election. This year 2023 is easy with only City of Tucson election.
