I have completed an in-depth interview with Jeff Latas, Democratic for Congress in CD 8. I questioned him for almost 2 hours on a range of issues on Friday, March 10th. It will be some time before I can complete the transciption, so it will likely be next week at the earliest before the I can put it online. I thought it was an interesting talk, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with all of you.

Also next week, I will be reviewing William Greider’s book The Soul of Capitalism: Opening Paths to a Moral Economy. I’m very enthused about this book. I’m still in the process of listening to it, but I’m already fit to bust with the many great progressive ideas about how to reform our economic system to reflect progressive social values while retaining and exploiting the great dynamism of capitalism to save the enviroment, broaden democratic participation and achieve great equity in the distribution of wealth in our society. I highly recommend this book to anyone engaged in attempting to craft a Democratic economic vision more compelling than just cheerleading for more of the status quo.

  1. I hope your interview can portray the Candidate for who he is and just not on the issues. I turned down an invitation to appear on Arizona Illistrated with Bill Buckmaster on KUAT because he only would let me talk about what he framed the issues as and not who Iam as a Candidate. I do not mind talking about the issues but today there is more in play than meets the eye!
