This morning, ADP Chair Raquel Terán released the following statement after Senator Sinema announced she left the Arizona Democratic Party:
“Arizona Democrats pride ourselves in being a voice for all Arizonans. This election cycle, our Democratic candidates delivered wins up and down the ticket with a broad coalition of voters including Independents and Republicans. Democrats have shown Arizonans they are guided by Arizona values above all else. Democrats know that all Arizonans want good-paying jobs, an equitable economy, and a chance at a better future. Through several pieces of historic legislation and Senator Sinema’s help, Democrats have made huge headway on delivering that for Arizonans.
However, Arizonans also need their voting rights protected and corporations to pay their fair share. Unfortunately in those areas, Senator Sinema has fallen dramatically short leaving Arizonans behind. As a party, we welcome Independent voters and their perspectives. Senator Sinema may now be registered as an Independent, but she has shown she answers to corporations and billionaires, not Arizonans. Senator Sinema’s party registration means nothing if she continues to not listen to her constituents.”
Sinema is a lost cause. We just need to get rid of her.
There should be a national petition demanding her resignation.
She could really mess up the 2024 election if she runs as an independent. But don’t you know the GOP leaders must be delighted. If Sinema runs and they run anything better than one of their election deniers or MAGA goofballs, the Dems could be in trouble no matter who they run.

It does seem that money is her strongest motivator, at least until now. This latest move, becoming an independent, feels more like revenge, telling the Democrats she hates them back.
I can’t believe I was shamed into voting for her. Won’t happen again.

“I think Goldberg is exactly right that Sinema was prepared to declare herself an independent and caucus with the Republicans if they won the majority. That says everything about her.
I don’t think she’ll retain the seat in 24. If she splits the vote with Gallego the Repubicans win and if the Arizona GOP sobers up and nominates a mainstream Republican she doesn’t have a chance. The only way she threads this needle is if a Democrat doesn’t run and the GOP puts up Kari Lake or Blake Masters. That’s an awful lot to bank on. But in her mind, it’s all about her.
