Dozens of Democrats attended the Oct. 21, 2023, Hawaiian Luau Fundraiser to elect law professor Kirsten Engel to Congress in CD6. Attendees enjoyed cameraderie with fellow Dems, plus the beautiful performance by the Halau Hula O Ualani dancers. The highly successful and enjoyable event was hosted by Democrats of Greater Tucson, and Democratic activists, Mary Ganapol, Ricky Sage, Michael Bryan, Catherine Ripley and Larry Bodine.

It’s time to oust Right-wing extremist Rep. Juan Ciscomaga and elect Kirsten Engel, who supports reproductive and voting rights, protection for Medicare and Social Security, and building low-cost sustainable energy sources.

Kirsten Engel was one of the first Democratic politicians to pledge “unwavering” support for Israel.

I wonder what she thinks now. Last I heard just under 6,000 Palestinians have been killed. And the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is growing more dire even after Joe Biden insisted that this retaliation or collective punishment or slaughter or whatever it is be executed in a humanitarian manner. (Yes, that’s me being sarcastic.)
I keep thinking about the Earth being 4.5 billion years old and how humans have been around for barely a moment. And all we seem to be able to do is f*** up.
But I’ll vote for Kirsten Engel assuming I’m still here. Not enthusiastically, but she’s better than Ciscomani FWIW.
Nice aloha wear and good to see Girlie’s authentic hula halau in the photos. My husband and I were out of town, as he was presenting at a German school in Chandler.
