DNC ads praise Reps. Giffords and Kirkpatrick for health care work

The Democratic National Committee's Organizing for America arm is launching radio spots praising two centrist Arizona congresswomen for "taking on the lobbyists and the special interests and standing up for us and our families" and "working every day to make sure we have affordable quality health care." AZ/DC Blog: DNC ads praise Giffords, Kirkpatrick for health-care work:

The ads give some support to Democratic Reps. Gabrielle Giffords and Ann Kirkpatrick as they talk to constituents about the ongoing health-care reform debate. The House last week adjourned for its August district work period and the Senate is expected to do the same at the end of this week.

"Health insurance companies have made record profits by doubling premiums and denying people coverage," the DNC ad says "And now, they and their lobbyists are fighting tooth and nail to stop reform and protect the status quo — and their profits – at the expense of affordable health care for families, small businesses and millions of Americans. But (Gabrielle Giffords/Ann Kirkpatrick) is fighting back."

The ads are part of a nationwide DNC campaign that rains compliments on 23 House Democrats that the Republican National Committee recently blitzed with radio ads.

Apparently there is no DNC ad supporting Rep. Harry Mitchell, who has been elected twice from a Republican-leaning district that includes Scottsdale and Tempe.

Funny, there is a letter to the editor in today’s Prescott Daily Courier from someone who called Kirkpatrick’s office and asked if she was going to be in Prescott during the break. The letter claims Kirkpatrick’s staff said she would be indeed but would not talk about healthcare.
From my experience trying to interact with K-Pat, I tend to believe the letter writer more than the DNC.
