The election "reform" bills that have been stalled in the Arizona legislature, see (Update) Election 'reform' bills still stalled in the Arizona legislature, have been put on the calendar for Wednesday afternoon. Your urgent attention is requested.

Action Alert from the Arizona Democratic Party:

Mayday, Mayday, Mayday! We need your help. Zero hour is 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1st. That’s when a conference committee will meet to discuss Republican Senator Michele Reagan’s latest attempt to circumvent open government.

Senator Reagan is replacing HB 2305 with the onerous and objectionable parts of two other bills which would severely limit a person’s ability to vote. Because she hasn’t been able to get SB 1003 and SB 1261 through the legislature, Reagan and other Tea Party extremists are resorting to back door maneuvering that eliminates any public comment.

We need you to call and/or email members of the conference committee and let them know you will not stand for their sneak attack on voter’s rights and democracy. Here is the contact information for committee members (below the fold).
