The Department of Justice is investigating the fake GQP electors scheme that was one element of the Trump Coup Plot. Fake Arizona Republican Electors Potentially Face Federal Charges And Prison Time.
Our partisan hack Attorney General Mark Brnovich aka “Nunchucks” (or is it numbnuts?) supposedly looked into the two groups of fake GQP electors in Arizona, but he has taken no legal action because he is engaged in a coverup of their crime to protect the participants, which include the chair of the Arizona Republican Party and party officers, and current GQP candidates for office, Jake Hoffman, Anthony Kern, and James Lamon.
If we didn’t have a corrupt attorney general, these two groups of fake GQP electors would already have faced what the fake GQP electors in Georgia are now facing today.
CNN reports, Georgia prosecutors tell 11 fake Trump electors they are targets in criminal probe:
The Atlanta-area district attorney investigating Donald Trump and his allies’ efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia has informed 11 individuals who were put forward as fake electors on behalf of the former president that there they are considered targets in the ongoing criminal probe, according to new court documents filed Tuesday.
Fulton County DA Fani Willis’ office informed lawyers for the 11 fake electors that the status change from witness to target was the result of “new evidence” that has come to light over the course of the probe.
“As our investigation has matured and new evidence has come to light, in a spirit of integrity we feel it only fitting to inform you that your clients’ status has changed to ‘Target,’” prosecutors said, according to a defense filing.
[A]mong the 11 fake electors who were notified that they are now considered targets in the grand jury investigation is state Republican Party Chairman David Shafer.
CNN previously reported that the Fulton County DA sent a target letter to Shafer, warning him that he may be indicted as part of her investigation.
The new court filings show Shafer is just one of 11 electors from Georgia who prosecutors could bring charges against.
The court documents reflect a shift by Georgia prosecutors, as they previously reassured Shafer and other fake electors for Trump that they were considered witnesses, rather than subjects or targets, in the grand jury investigation – a notable distinction that suggests Willis’ office did not view their actions as criminal at the time, two sources told CNN.
That appears to have changed in late June, according to the court records filed by defense attorneys on Tuesday, after prosecutors were informed the 11 electors “were, in fact, planning to testify substantively to the grand jury.”
Typical Republican lawyer defense of GQP Coup Plotter insurrectionists:
In the court filing, attorneys for the electors say they are moving to “quash” grand jury subpoenas for appearances beginning on July 25, calling them “unreasonable and oppressive.”
Defense attorneys suggested Willis’ letter was a “publicity stunt.”
“The unavoidable conclusion is that the nominee electors’ change of status was not precipitated by new evidence or an honestly-held belief that they have criminal exposure but instead an improper desire to force them to publicly invoke their rights as, at best, a publicity stunt,” the court filing stated.
Is “publicity stunt” the new “fake news”? And if the fake GQP electors did nothing wrong and are perfectly innocent as they claim, then they should want to testify to clear their names. They would have no reason to assert their Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination, as their lawyers suggest. This is a “tell” that defense lawyers believe their clients may have committed a crime(s).
CNN continues:
Shafer, who has faced inquiries from federal investigators, Georgia prosecutors and the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, acted as a pro-Trump elector in Georgia. He also helped organize the fake slate of electors in the Peach State, which Trump lost by nearly 12,000 votes.
Willis’ office appeared to be trying to determine whether the pro-Trump electors in Georgia had any knowledge that their actions may have been a component of a broader and potentially illegal plot to pressure election officials and overturn Joe Biden’s victory, a source previously told CNN.
The Arizona fake GQP electors clearly understood they were part of a multi-faceted Coup Plot, and they were knowing and willing participants as co-conspirators and accessories who aided and abetted advancing the seditious conspiracy, as we have documented at length. Georgia’s fake GQP electors almost certainly understood they were part of a multi-faceted Coup Plot, and they were knowing and willing participants as co-conspirators and accessories who aided and abetted advancing the seditious conspiracy.
Georgia has remained a central focus for investigators at state and federal levels. The Atlanta-area investigation was prompted after Trump’s infamous phone call pressuring Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” the votes needed to swing the state to him was revealed. The Justice Department is also investigating the fake electors scheme and a grand jury in Washington issued subpoenas in March related to the fake electors and other matters.
Shafer told the House select committee in February that the fake electors scheme came at the direction of the Trump campaign after then-President Trump lost the state’s vote.
CNN previously reported that Rudy Giuliani led the Trump campaign officials in spearheading the illegitimate electors as a part of the broader plot to overturn Biden’s victory when Congress counted the electoral votes on January 6.

Good story, I always like to think of all these things from the viewpoint of having everything flipped and then what would they do??? So that would put Democrats in the hot seat and Trump ,,, or someone like his ilk would have been the president. And of course, all of the Democrats would be corrupt vial, evil people. Now just what would the Republicans do if they had to come after the Democrats and fix their wagon? Light their hair on fire and scream like Trey Gowdy, or say what they are saying now ,,,, it’s no big deal. Also, our Arizona Attorney general Mark Brnovich has got to be on thin ice, This slate of fake electors from Arizona must be held responsible for their actions. If not, then things like this will become more common place. And if Mr. numbnuts becomes derelict in his duties then he should face charges and stiff penalties. if the words, “No one in America is above the law” is without true meaning, then it becomes a license for the GOP to do anything they want. I say charge them with the crimes they have committed for all to see, especially members of their own party.
