Press release from the Terry Goddard for Governor campaign:

Goddard Addresses Arizona Crime Prevention Association

(PHOENIX) Attorney General Terry Goddard today addressed more than 100 law enforcement officials during the opening of a two-day training session sponsored by the Arizona Crime Prevention Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to crime prevention. This training focused on addressing crime trends in ID theft, Internet intelligence and drug cartels.

"Despite the baseless comments Jan Brewer has made about violence in Arizona, you know – better than anyone – the real story.  Arizona crime has been reduced to the lowest point since 1983. It has been a privilege to work with law enforcement agencies statewide who have accomplished so much," said Attorney General Goddard.

"Jan Brewer should apologize to Arizona law enforcement for her false remarks. Her statements are an insult to the men and women of law enforcement that risk so much to keep Arizona safe."

"Together, we have reduced meth use, mortgage fraud and predators who attack our children online and elsewhere.  Arizona's overall crime rate is down, and has been for the past several years.  That is the direct result of your hard work, I thank you."
