GOP Clown Car of Lawsuits Finally Crashes

Soooo much losing. The GOP nationwide and in Arizona have been driving a clown car, with bogus lawsuits jumping out wildly. But they’ve crashed into a wall of judges, legislators, and officials who reject their claims to overturn the election — and many of them are Republicans!

Republicans have become defeated whiners and snowflakes who melt in court. And I’m afraid it’s true: they lost to a massive conspiracy of 80 million people who voted for Joe Biden, working in secret with mail-in and in-person ballots. The GOP’s problem is not voter fraud — their problem is the voters.

At this point, it’s entertaining to watch the three dozen anti-election lawsuits be dismissed in court. I have to laugh at their “hearings” which are ignored by Republican officials. This includes:

• Rep. Mark Finchem held an unofficial “forum” on Monday where anonymous emails and unsworn witnesses spouted bogus election fraud conspiracies. My favorite fabrication is that the Pima County Democratic Party, whose meetings I attend, met to see a presentation on rigging the election by “preloading” 35,000 fake ballots for Democrats. You can’t make this stuff up!
• Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers, a Republican, promptly rejected Finchem’s scheme to call a session of the Legislature to overturn the voters’ will. Finchem, a right-wing militia member proved nothing — except that his cowboy hat is full of crazy bugs.
• Arizona GOP demagogue Kelli Ward had her election fraud lawsuit promptly dismissed by the Maricopa County Superior Court on Friday. Why? Because she had no evidence of fraud or misconduct. Also, her lawyer is facing ethics charges for filing frivolous lawsuits.
• Arizona State Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican, set up an email for people to report election fraud. So far she’s getting people claiming they saw aliens voting.

A-no-sog-nosia

Surveys say 75% of Republicans believe Biden won because of voter fraud. In medical circles, this is known as Anosognosia, where people are unable to perceive reality and reject the facts. It isn’t unusual, and but sometimes, the rejection is long-lasting.

An example includes the pandemic deniers who died while claiming that the coronavirus doesn’t exist, as reported by an emergency room nurse in South Dakota. The patients were on oxygen-breathing machines because of Covid. “Their last dying words are, ‘This can’t be happening. It’s not real.'”

Republicans persist in election fraud hallucinations, despite what other Republicans say:

• US Attorney General Bill Barr said there is no fraud in the election.
• Republicans Gov. Doug Ducey and AZ Attorney General Mark Brnovich said there is no fraud. When Donald Trump telephoned Ducey as he was signing the certification of Joe Biden’s election, Ducey ignored him. The phone was playing “Hail to the Chief” and vibrating for more than 15 minutes.
• Republican secretaries of state in Ohio, Kansas, and Georgia said there is no fraud.

Meanwhile, GOP lawyers bringing the evidence-free lawsuits are facing ethics charges, which could get them disbarred. Three attorneys filed a Bar complaint against GOP/Trump lawyers Kory Langhofer and Jack Wilenchik for filing frivolous election fraud lawsuits.

The GOP lawyers violated Arizona Ethics Rule 3.1, which forbids lawyers from filing frivolous lawsuits, according to the complaint. Maricopa Superior Court Judge Daniel Kiley said in one election-fraud lawsuit, the lawyers “yielded affidavits that you yourself found to be false... This is concerning.”

The complaint says, “Langhofer and Wilenchik filed this lawsuit without evidence. They filed this lawsuit to undermine the 2020 election, which does nothing but sow public discord at a time when we need unity.” It also charges the lawyers with violating Ethics Rule 8.4., which forbids misconduct, and violating Arizona Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b), which requires attorneys to file only factually-based lawsuits with legal merit.

• Kory Langhofer is a voter suppression lawyer who argued against the extension of voter registration in Arizona in October, argued in favor of allowing evictions — despite the Governor’s moratorium — and challenged ballot initiatives. “This is not Langhofer’s first frivolous filing. In 2018, the Arizona Court of Appeals imposed a nearly $150,000 sanction on him for filing frivolous litigation in Snowflake Arizona. The Arizona Supreme Court declined to review the Appellate court’s ruling that, “There is no public interest in a frivolous lawsuit, and discouraging groundless litigation is what the legislature intended.”
• Jack Wilenchik is the lawyer who got convicted sheriff Joe Arpaio a presidential pardon. He has represented animal abusers, land squatters, and a coach charged with student hazing. He also represents the notorious Goldwater Institute and is Kelli Ward’s attorney in Maricopa County Superior Court. Wilenchik’s own handwriting expert examined ballots but couldn’t find evidence of fraud or misconduct.

Trump will rot away

Meanwhile, Trump has crumpling into a sad clown, a whiner who can’t admit he lost by 7 million votes. Since he’s been in office, he’s told 23,000 lies, and a majority of people don’t believe anything he says. Right now Republicans are scared of Trump, but this will all change on Jan. 20 when he exits the White House.

Trump will probably end up on a reality show, or as a commentator at the fringe OAN network. Trump used false claims of election fraud to raise $500 million for his personal PAC slush fund. He’ll use the cash to get what he craves most: constant attention.

He claims he’ll run again in 2024 but don’t count on it. As soon as he’s out of office, GOP candidates like Mike Pence, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley will announce they are candidates for President.

Will the Republicans choose these fresh, new candidates — or turn to an aging, impeached loser? Trump’s story is a tale told about an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
