Tea-Publicans to renege on budget deal, take America hostage again

Remember back to last August when a budget deal was agreed to after Tea-Publicans threatened to default on the federal debt ceiling? The parties agreed to a bipartisan "supercommittee" that had until November to come up with a budget deal, or there would be automatic "triggers," cuts to domestic and defense spending. A bad day for America.

Of course the bipartisan "supercommittee" failed. It was designed to fail. Neoconservative war mongers like John McCain have already reneged on the budget deal by opposing the automatic cuts to defense spending.

Now the GOP's boy genius, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who gave us the GOP's Roadmap to America's Ruin Budget last year that proposed to privatize Medicare by turning it into a voucher program, is back this week with his Roadmap to America's Ruin Budget II that reneges on the budget deal agreed to last August so that Tea-Publicans can take America hostage again.

Joan McCarter sums it up nicely at Daily Kos: Paul Ryan's budget retread, now with government shutdown!:

Rep. Paul Ryan, House finance chair, releases his big budget tomorrow, the budget that will break the August debt limit deal, and subsequent law, and that thus threatens a government shutdown. Oh, and it would privatize Medicare, too.

But House Republicans are absolutely certain that, this time, they'll sell this load of crap to the American public and emerge victorious in 2012.

They think they can sell it this time because a lone Democrat, Sen. Ron Wyden, has signed on to Ryan's Medicare plan, never mind that every other prominent Democrat, regular Democrat and especially the White House has rejected it.

Ryan seems to be forgetting the reaction he faced back home over his plan, and remains convinced that the problem isn't the plan, it's how they're selling the plan.

Last May, they tried to sell that plan with fear, exactly as they are this year. And I mean, exactly. It's the same message, and it's the same content: Cut Medicare and Medicaid AND taxes for the wealthy.

So once again Tea-Publicans will take America hostage, and threaten to shut down the government if we do not agree to their ransom demands.

There is also rare agreement that the Tea-Publican economic terrorists have been rewarded for taking America hostage and are being paid their ransom demands in order to save the life of the hostage. This is gangster government, and it will only embolden further hostage taking by Tea-Publican economic terrorists in the future. When are Americans (the hostages) going to rise up and finally say "Enough is enough!" This is no way to run a country.
