This should have been an easy call for all members of the United States House of Representatives.
A bipartisan measure to condemn the fringe conspiracy group Q’Anon was proposed.
371 members of the House voted to pass it
18 Republicans voted against it,
Several others did not bother to vote.
Arizona Congressional District Four House Representative Paul “I never met a conspiracy theory I did not like” Gosar and District Five’s Congressman Andy “Masks are objects from a tyrannical government” Biggs were members of the last two groups.
Gosar voted against it.
Biggs did not show up to vote.
Again, these two members of the Freedom Circ…Caucus have shown that their perception of reality and what is appropriate do not subscribe to the great majority of the people who do not live in the Trump Zone, Fox Island, or Disinfo Wars.
The two Democratic House Nominees looking to beat Gosar and Biggs on November 3. 2020, offered their views on the Q’Anon resolution.
Congressional District Four Democratic Nominee Delina DiSanto wrote:
“QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory movement, spreading false information about this contagious and deadly virus, COVID19, and spewing lies and false claims. They promote the mass arrest of journalists & politicians because media news is pointing out the facts, while they infiltrate social media with conspiracy theories and lies. QAnon motivates violence & now death threats by their hateful rhetoric and posts.”
“Representative Paul Gosar has not condemned them but promotes their dangerous ideology on his social media posts. Of course, he voted against the House Resolution condemning QAnon. He still has not condemned white supremacy when asked. At the same time, he continues to promote second Amendment sanctuary cities which encourage American citizens to rise up with military assault arms and instill they have the right to create their own regime. Gosar is dangerous for Congressional District Four, for Arizona and for our country.”
“We cannot continue down this road of hate, divisiveness, and growing violence. The majority of Americans want peace and need leaders who will work toward a safe and efficient vaccine, ensure a healthy nation, get our economy moving and growing, helping those who need a lifeline to survive. Rep. Paul Gosar is not the man for this job, but I am the woman who can do the job.”
“Vote for me this November.”
Congressional District Five Democratic Nominee Joan Greene commented:
“The people in Arizona’s Fifth District have every right to be represented in Congress by a person who is not affiliated with violent fringe groups. Submitting legislation based on conspiracy theories and fringe ideology hurts our families and weakens our community bonds.”
“The incumbent Andy Biggs endorses Q candidates and supports them with large financial donations. His not showing up to vote is a signal to Q he is ‘one of them’. “
“Biggs has shown us for 20 years who he is and the votes against him from Arizona’s Fifth District will let him know we heard him, and he is not one of us.”
Q’Anon is a fringe divisive movement, based on unreality, that has no place in the public discourse.
The people of Arizona Congressional House Districts Four and Five deserve Representatives that will disavow Q’Anon, promote reality, and serve the public good.
With their actions/inaction on the resolution condemning Q’Anon, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs confirm again that they are not those representatives.
Voters in those districts should give Delina DiSanto and Joan Greene a chance to prove they are in 29 days.
