After Governor Brewer recently lost in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals over her executive order to deny driver’s licenses to individuals qualified for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program aka the DREAMers under President Obama’s executive order, the Arizona Republic editorialized Save the headache, governor, and let ‘dreamers’ drive.
Just as this old crone gave President Obama the boney finger on the tarmac, she has now given the editors of The Republic and every DREAMer her boney middle-finger salute. This woman must really hate kids for breathing while brown. Governor seeking reconsideration of license ruling:
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer asked an appeals court Friday to reconsider its earlier ruling that blocked her policy denying driver’s licenses to young immigrants who have avoided deportation under an Obama administration policy.
Earlier this month, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concluded there was no legitimate state interest in treating young immigrants who were granted deferred action on deportation differently from other noncitizens who could apply for driver’s licenses. Instead, the panel suggested the policy was intended to express hostility toward the young immigrants, in part because of the federal government’s policy toward them.
Brewer is now asking for a 15-judge panel to reconsider the ruling.
Translation: Brewer is asking for an en banc hearing of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, rather than appealing directly to the U.S. Supreme Court. As Brewer and her lawyers know, “An en banc hearing or rehearing is not favored and ordinarily will not be ordered unless:
(1) en banc consideration is necessary to secure or maintain uniformity of the court’s decisions; or
(2) the proceeding involves a question of exceptional importance.”
The grounds for an en banc hearing under Federal Rule 35 are not satisfied in this case. It is highly unlikely the Ninth Circuit will grant this request.
“We are confident that the panel’s decision will be upheld,” said Karen Tumlin, one of the attorneys representing the immigrants.

Immigrant-rights advocates who filed the challenge to Brewer’s policy said the rule change made it difficult or impossible for such young immigrants to do essential things in their everyday lives, such as going to school, going to the grocery store and finding and holding down a job.
Brewer’s refusal marked the nation’s most visible challenge to the Obama policy on young immigrants.
Only 6 more months until this lame-duck is no longer governor, and she will no longer be pissing away your tax dollars on attorneys fees and costs in frivolous lawsuits to defend her unlawful actions.
UPDATE: Arizona’s next governor, Democrat Fred DuVal, issued a press release reaffirming that “”As governor, the very first thing I will do after taking the oath of office will be to rescind Governor Brewer’s executive order and give our DREAMers the opportunity they deserve.”

The arizona democratic party should be doing a lot more and so should its candidates. Since many white democratic candidates don’t have the space to put the word democrat on their campaign signs they should stick on a banner WE SUPPORT THE CHILDREN and we want them here. Look what happened in 2010 when our state wide candidates said they would in force 1070. The white conservative democrats still voted for brewer and the hispanic voters stayed home. though democrat support of photo radar didn’t help either.
Yes but from what I’ve seen on their TV ads, all the Reoub candidates for Governor pledge to run the Border Patrol and buld fences and do the President’s job.
None of them seem interested on doing a Governor’s job.
She is pure evil. Can Arizona break out of the spell?
