Governor Katie Hobbs Releases Re-Election Ad Called “Arizona Stories”

In an ad announcing her 2026 Re-Election campaign, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs framed the election as a drive to continue her Arizona’s Promise Program and putting Arizonans first.

Below is the transcript of the video.

JADE: It is very difficult being a business owner.
SALLY: The prices are just going up so high.
JACOB: It’s a lot to balance right now,
JADE: Especially in the climate today.
HOBBS: Jade, Stephanie and Jacob, Sally and Alberto. Their stories are like so many in Arizona, including my own.
HOBBS: I grew up in a working-class family. I worked at Burger King and Pizza Hut while going to school. And I drove for Uber to make sure my kids had Christmas presents.
HOBBS: My parents raised us to look out for others. That’s why, as your governor, putting Arizonans first has always been my priority.
HOBBS: Over the last three years, we cut taxes for middle-class families, small businesses, and veterans. We lowered childcare costs, so working parents aren’t saddled with yet another expense. We turned a $1.4 billion deficit into a balanced budget. And we took the lead in computer chip manufacturing, creating thousands of good-paying jobs right here in Arizona.
STEPHANIE: To give my husband a place to find meaningful work to make a livable wage. I don’t think our lives would be the same under different leadership.
HOBBS: As a border state, we have unique challenges. And when Washington politicians failed to secure it, I ordered the National Guard to the border to fight drug and human trafficking. And we’ve seized over 12 million fentanyl pills.
HOBBS: When our resources were at risk, I stood up to my own party to get Arizona’s fair share of Colorado River water.
HOBBS: And when a foreign corporation was pumping groundwater and shipping their product overseas, I stopped them.
JACOB: Katie Hobbs is tough.
SALLY: She’s very strong. She’s a fighter. She’s going to lead the people.
HOBBS: To get all this done in such partisan times, you’ve gotta have thick skin and an ability to put politics aside. But it’s easier when you know exactly who you’re working for.
JACOB: She’s taking the time to show that she cares.
ALBERTO: She cares about the state. She cares about the folks.
JADE: She really cares about your day-to-day struggles and that is something that you don’t see very often.
HOBBS: I’m running to serve you for four more years. Because there’s more work to do. While Washington D.C. keeps driving up prices, I’m taking action to bring them down. To fix our state’s education system. And to keep Arizona a safe place for all of our families.
STEPHANIE: I think her leadership is unmatched.
ALBERTO: She has stood her ground for the betterment of this state.
HOBBS: I’m ready to keep moving Arizona forward, and together we’ll make sure the people of Arizona always come first.

On social media, the Governor posted the ad and said:

“Arizona: I’m running for re-election.

Your stories of hard work, hope, and determination inspire me to keep moving our state forward. I’m ready to serve you for 4 more years and always put your family first.

Let’s get to work.”

A press release shortly after the release of the video by Campaign Manager Nichole DeMont highlighted the differences between Governor Hobbs and any Republican opponent including:

  • A productive legislative session.
  • The Governors ability, from personal experience, to relate to working class sensitivities.
  • The Republican candidates embrace of Trump-MAGA and their destructive policies toward the working and middle class and Democracy.
  • Hobbs will put Arizona First.

The press release concludes with:

“While her opponents can’t see past the August 2026 primary election, the Hobbs campaign has been and will remain 100 percent focused on winning the general election in November. Hobbs will be criss-crossing the state, hosting events, and talking to Arizonans about her record of bipartisan solutions on everything from securing the border to protecting Arizona’s water to lowering costs. And thanks to her record-breaking fundraising, she’ll have a sizable warchest behind her to ensure her campaign has the resources it needs to communicate with Arizonans, get voters out in every corner of the state, and come out on top.”

“Despite running in a state with a +9 Republican advantage for offices that Democrats hadn’t won in decades, Katie Hobbs has never lost an election – and that’s no accident. She has a long track record of speaking to the issues that matter to Arizonans, focusing on results and not politics, and working hard to ensure Arizonans know how her pragmatic approach differs from that of her opponents. Hobbs has built a brand of putting sanity over chaos, which is exactly what Arizonans are looking for as politicians in Washington make life harder for everyday Arizonans. No Arizona governor has lost re-election in Katie Hobbs’ lifetime, and this campaign is prepared to extend that winning streak.”
