ICE is on a Murder and Death Spree

The murder of 37-year-old Renee Good of Minneapolis by ICE agent Jonathan Ross on January 8, 2026, was not the first of its kind under Trump. Published data reveal there have been at least 14 incidents of homicidal ICE agents or U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel having shot at civilians, four of which have been fatal.

As reported by Anna Fleck, Senior Data Journalist for Statista:

  • Just one week earlier, on December 31, 2025, Keith Porter Jr. was killed in Northridge, Los Angeles, when an off-duty ICE agent fatally shot him. Witnesses say Porter was firing a rifle into the air to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Homeland Security claims the agent had responded to an “active shooter” situation.
  • On December 11, a border patrol agent murdered a Mexican national, age 31, who was fleeing capture from ICE in Rio Grande City, Texas, according to the source. Authorities have withheld the victim’s identity.
  • Three months earlier, on September 12, Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, 38, was shot and killed by an ICE officer. The agency said he had resisted arrest during a traffic stop.

Statista also lists five incidents where civilians have been shot and wounded since June 14, as well as five additional cases where agents fired shots but no one was injured.

Even more illegal killings in ICE prisons

Deaths in ICE custody soared to the highest level in more than 20 years in 2025. According to ICE data, at least 30 non-U.S. citizens died while in custody in 2025 — the highest level in more than 20 years.

The savage pattern of deaths has continued into this year. According to ICE records, four people died in custody in the first nine days of 2026. In September 2026, two of six prisoners were killed in a sniper attack at an immigration facility in Dallas. Other causes of death reported throughout the year included seizures, complications after surgery, heart failure and suicide.

The rise in deaths comes as U.S. President Donald Trump continues to ramp up his crackdown on illegal immigration in the United States. According to Trace Reports, 65,735 people were in detention on November 30, 2025. Of those, 73.6 percent had no criminal convictions, and many of those convicted had committed only minor offenses, including traffic violations.

Most Law Enforcement Funds Go to Bloodthirsty ICE & Border

Two-thirds of all federal law enforcement funding in the United States for fiscal year 2025 is going to immigration and border enforcement, according to an analysis of data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

  • Together, immigration and border enforcement will receive more than $33 billion. This includes $19 billion in funding for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at $10 billion.
  • U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) at $281 million.
  • Department of Homeland Security’s general offices at $3.2 billion.
  • 20 percent of the Coast Guard’s budget – approximately $2.2 billion.

The amount spent on immigration and border enforcement agencies is:

  • 36 times higher than spending on tax and financial crimes enforcement (IRS-Treasury)
  • 21 times higher than funding for firearms enforcement (ATF)
  • 13 times higher than on drug enforcement (DEA)
  • 10 times higher than spending on the Secret Service
  • 8 times higher than the FBI budget.

Americans Object to Wanton Killings and Deaths by ICE & BP

Just over half of U.S. adults say that the Trump administration is doing “too much” in terms of deporting immigrants from the United States.

According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, 53 percent of U.S. adults surveyed in a poll between October 6 and 16, 2025, took this stance. Only 36 percent said that U.S. President Donald Trump was doing “about the right amount,” and 10 percent said he was not doing enough.

There has been a shift since March, when the same question was asked. Back then, 44 percent had said that “too much” was being done, indicating how a growing number of people feel uncomfortable with the U.S. immigration policies.

Looking at a breakdown along party lines, the share of respondents thinking that “too much” was being done increased for both self-identified Democratic-leaning voters and Republican-leaning voters.

Trump’s murderous policies have unleashed the ICE and BP Gestapo, despite tens of thousands participating in 1,000 nationwide anti-ICE protests in cities like Minneapolis, Portland, New York, and LA, demanding accountability for Good’s death and other ICE-related incidents.

  1. This could be stopped on January 30th when the current budget resolution expires. If the Democrats hold firm to demanding basic rights be restored and respected for all or no Democrat votes for a new budget.

Oh, what am I thinking? As usual Jeffries and Schumer will cave.
