In Her Alternate Reality World, ‘Krazy Kari’ Lake Threatens To Arrest FBI Agents For A Policy To Protect Teachers And Administrators

“Krazy Kari” Lake wants to impose the White Christian Nationalist Hillsdale “1776 Curriculum,” from Hillsdale College in our schools, what her “Dear Leader” Donald Trump called a “patriotic education.” Kari Lake wants Trump-inspired ‘patriotic’ curriculum taught to Arizona schoolchildren. “Lake would also try to ban diversity, equity and inclusion training in schools, according to her campaign website.”

This is part of the MAGA/QAnon conspiracy theory around Critical Race Theory (CRT) being anti-white racism being “indoctrinated” into school children by teachers and school administrators. CRT is a graduate level course only taught at universities and law schools (it is about inherent racism built into our society’s institutions as a legacy of slavery and Jim Crow segregation). It is NOT taught in any Arizona K-12 classroom.

School Board meetings have been disrupted by violent MAGA/QAnon cultists, some of which is being orchestrated by Trump’s domestic terrorist militia, the Proud Boys: the “targeting of public schools is a coordinated, nationwide effort, suggesting a direct line from the group’s involvement in the January 6 insurrection to its current participation in the wave of protests at public schools and school board meetings.” The Proud Boys Are Coming for Public Schools; Proud Boys Regroup, Focusing on School Boards and Town Councils.

Teachers and school administrators have been subjected to harassment, intimidation and death threats from these MAGA/QAnon cultists high on Fox News propaganda. In addition to the strain of teaching during a pandemic and unchecked school shootings, this is a contributing factor to a massive number of teachers retiring from the profession, leading to a national teacher shortage.

In response to this unhinged harassment, intimidation and death threats to teachers and school administrators, the Justice Department Addressed Violent Threats Against School Officials and Teachers:

Citing an increase in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members, teachers and workers in our nation’s public schools, today Attorney General Merrick B. Garland directed the FBI and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices to meet in the next 30 days with federal, state, Tribal, territorial and local law enforcement leaders to discuss strategies for addressing this disturbing trend. These sessions will open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment and response by law enforcement.

“Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values,” wrote Attorney General Garland. “Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.”

According to the Attorney General’s memorandum, the Justice Department will launch a series of additional efforts in the coming days designed to address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel. Those efforts are expected to include the creation of a task force, consisting of representatives from the department’s Criminal Division, National Security Division, Civil Rights Division, the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, the FBI, the Community Relations Service and the Office of Justice Programs, to determine how federal enforcement tools can be used to prosecute these crimes, and ways to assist state, Tribal, territorial and local law enforcement where threats of violence may not constitute federal crimes.

The Justice Department will also create specialized training and guidance for local school boards and school administrators. This training will help school board members and other potential victims understand the type of behavior that constitutes threats, how to report threatening conduct to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, and how to capture and preserve evidence of threatening conduct to aid in the investigation and prosecution of these crimes.

Threats of violence against school board members, officials, and workers in our nation’s public schools can be reported by the public to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) via its national tip line (1-800-CALL-FBI) and online through the FBI website (http://fbi.gov/tips). To ensure that threats are communicated to the appropriate authorities, NTOC will direct credible threats to FBI field offices, for coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and law enforcement partners as appropriate. Reporting threats of violence through NTOC will help the federal government identify increased threats in specific jurisdictions as well as coordinated widespread efforts to intimidate educators and education workers.

In classic 1984 double-speak, the MAGA/QAnon cult has rebranded its White Christian Nationalist campaign against diversity, equity, and an historically accurate depiction of American history as “parental rights,” rather than the assault on a secular public education that it is.

Tenther Secessionist Wants To Arrest The Feds For Protecting Teachers And School Administrators

“Krazy Kari” Lake is an anti-federal government “state’s rights” Tenther who has openly suggested secession from the federal government (not an actual thing since being decided by the Civi War). 11 (obvious) ways Republican Kari Lake’s secession dream for Arizona would be a nightmare (excerpt):

Most recently, as part of her unhinged ranting about the search warrant executed at Trump’s Florida estate, Lake proposed, essentially, that Arizona secede from the union.

(We’ll have to pretend for a moment that such a thing is possible.)

Lake said in part, “Our Government is rotten to the core. These tyrants will stop at nothing to silence the Patriots who are working hard to save America.”

She added, “The 10th Amendment can and will save our Republic and the road to stripping the Feds of power travels right through Arizona.”

She said, “We must fire the Federal Government.”

“I don’t believe parents are terrorists at all. And I’ll tell you what. If I were governor right now, and Joe Biden even thought he was gonna send his FBI or DOJ in to start coming after our parents, they would be met at the airport with the state police and arrested for going after our rights. We finally, as parents, have to rise up and say, ‘No, we’re gonna take this anymore, and they call us terrorists. That’s unbelievable. We’re in an upside-down world, and we need to right it.’

That sounds concerning. Joe Biden might send “his” FBI and DOJ to come after parents? Forget that State Police cannot arrest the FBI if they are doing their jobs, it is unbelievable that the FBI would be “sent” to arrest parent “terrorists.”

Literally “unbelievable” because none of this exists in the real world, and Kari Lake is tapping into the QAnon conspiracy ecosystem, the favorite habitat of the rabid MAGA voter who might otherwise be too lazy to vote.

[T]he FBI only plans to stop the death threats and aggressive action toward other state employees. like teachers and administrators. So, it would seem that the FBI doesn’t call parents terrorists. No, the FBI calls terrorists “terrorists.” If a parent has concerns and goes to meetings and speaks their mind loudly, he or she isn’t a terrorist; that person is a concerned parent. But if a parent or [Proud Boy] goes to a school board meeting and says that he knows where they all live and they are signing their death warrants, that person is a terrorist, parent or not.

Yet again, it’s Lake who lives in an upside-down world. Pffft, “state troopers arresting FBI agents there to take in parents because they’re terrorists.” Only “Krazy Kari” Lake would make such an [absurd] assertion.

This demagogue is dangerous and would lead Arizona down a ruinous path of MAGA/QAnon cult insanity. Do NOT giver her this opportunity. Vote for Katie Hobbs, the sane and responsible candidate.
