On Thursday, investigators on the House January 6 Committee sent a letter to former house speaker and Donald Trump ally Newt Gingrich, requesting testimony on his role in spreading distrust about the results of the election.
“The Committee has obtained information indicating that you have knowledge about former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, and we write to seek your voluntary cooperation,” said the letter. “Some of the information that we have obtained includes email messages that you exchanged with senior advisors to President Trump and others, including Jared Kushner and Jason Miller, in which you provided detailed input into television advertisements and relied upon false claims about fraud in the 2020 election.”
“Among the numerous emails you exchanged regarding purported election fraud, you wrote on December 8, 2020, urging Donald Trump’s campaign to air advertisements promoting the false narrative that election workers had smuggled suitcases containing fake ballots at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia,” the letter continued. “This email shows that you provided line edits to the scripts used to produce television advertisements and suggested that the advertisements include a “call-to-action” of pressuring state officials” — specifically requesting that the ads address the “suitcase scandal.”
According to the letter, the committee also has knowledge that Gingrich was “involved” in the scheme to introduce fake slates of electors for Trump in states that Biden won.
“A full and accurate accounting of what happened on January 6th is critical to the Select Committee’s legislative recommendations,” concluded the letter. “And the American people deserve to understand the relevant details of what led to the attack.”
The fake elector scheme is separately being investigated by Atlanta prosecutor Fani Willis, who is also looking into Trump’s calls pressuring state officials to “find” extra votes.
Prepare a subpoena now, because this evil GQP bastard is never going to voluntarily cooperate with the January 6 Committee. You shoud know better.
By the way, if the January 6 Committee wants to hear from Newt Gingrich, then it absolutely must subpoena Virginia “Ginni” Thomas. Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court justice, urged lawmakers to overturn Trump election loss in Wisconsin, report says:
Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, emailed Wisconsin legislators in November 2020 and asked them to effectively reverse then-President Donald Trump’s election loss to President Joe Biden in that state, according to emails disclosed Thursday.
It was already known that the conservative advocate Ginni Thomas had contacted legislators in Arizona with a similar request seeking to undo Biden’s victory there.
The Washington Post first reported Thursday that she wrote two Republican legislators in Wisconsin, state Sen. Kathy Bernier and state Rep. Gary Tauchen, on Nov. 9, 2020, at “virtually the same time the Arizona lawmakers received a verbatim copy of the message from Thomas.”
[D]ocumented obtained the emails through a request under Wisconsin’s public records laws. The group posted a copy of the emails online later Thursday.
The report comes more than a month after Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said the select House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol was considering issuing a subpoena to Ginni Thomas.
Thomas sent the emails to Arizona and Wisconsin lawmakers via the online site FreeRoots, which provides pre-written messages that can be sent to multiple elected officials.

Thomas’ advocacy for conservative causes while her husband serves on the high court has generated controversy in recent years.
Thomas sent 29 messages to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows after the 2020 election encouraging him to pursue then-ongoing efforts to undo Biden’s victory, CBS News reported in March.
“Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! …You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice,” she wrote Meadows on Nov. 10, 2020. “The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”
In January, Clarence Thomas was the only Supreme Court justice to support Trump’s request to block White House recordsfrom being sent to the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot.
While I can’t disagree with you about the part Gingrich and his Contract On America played in creating the current state of things, it was solidly laid out on the foundation provided by Saint Ronnie and his successful transformation of the perception of the U S Government. When he converted the perception of Government from a solution and a help, however flawed , to the problem itself, he began the enfeeblement of the one entity in place capable of protecting citizens, small businesses and localities against the corporate and big money power base.
