Republican attorney Janet Wittenbraker has now also joined the list of hopefuls for this Ward 3 seat. She ran for Tucson Mayor in Nov. 2023 and for Pima County Supervisor for District 3 in Nov. 2024. So she’s used to running for office.

In Mayor’s race she got 30% of the vote, 43% in the District 3 race.
Besides Mayor Romero and District 5 Pima County Supervisor Adelita Grijalva, also in attendance: District 3 Supervisor Jen Allen, TUSD Governing Bd. member Natalie Luna Rose, Amphi School Bd. member Matt Kopec, Ward 5 Council candidate Selina Barajas, Ward 6 Council candidate Miranda Schubert. About 60 people were present at Brother’s John’s BBQ, 1801 N. Stone Ave. Kevin apparently faces Dem opposition from 2 term TUSD Governing Bd. member Sadie Shaw, but the official nomination petitions are due on April 7, 2025, so there is no official list of who’s running as yet.
