Damn, Governor Tim Walz is good on the stump.
Watch him in this excerpt in these comments to Wisconsinites at a Labor Day Rally yesterday.
I do not think there was a teleprompter there.
He just took down the warped logic of the Trump and MAGA Republicans on social class-economic politics.
Honestly, it may be the best passage of any of the speeches given yesterday from President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Governor.
Donald Trump and JD Vance decided to ditch any Labor Day events.
Their silence actually says more about them and their commitment to the working and middle class than any orchestrated and staged rally they could have organized.
Below is what Governor Walz said in the excerpt.
“This guy has made it clear how he stands. He’s sitting down at Mara Largo after he got elected President and this was his exact quote. He’s talking to a bunch of folks at Mara Largo ‘You’re rich as hell and we’re going to give you a tax cut'”
“At the same time, he’s telling workers they get paid too much already.”
“That’s who this guy is.”
“You tell me. Who in Wisconsin is sitting around saying, ‘Damn, I wish they give billionaires more tax cuts and screw me over. Damn, I’d wish they’d take my health care away. I wish they’d underfund my public schools. I wish they would make my job more difficult and more dangerous. And then, at the end of the day I wish they would make me work until I’m 75 years old.‘”
“No ones saying that. No one is asking for that agenda.”
“What they’re asking for is to be treated fairly and with dignity. That’s what we ask.”
Let Walz be Walz.
He just gave one of the best arguments why working and middle class voters should not support the Trump/Vance Ticket.
Do not change a thing.
