Many American Troops will Die to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz

At 5 p.m. today (Tucson time), Iran will reject Trump’s belligerent blathering, and a ‘whole civilization will die tonight,’ according to our bloodthirsty President.

Six U.S. Soldiers were killed in a drone strike by Iran on March 1, 2026.

But Trump’s “plan” to hit civilians, bridges, desalination plants and energy targets won’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

That will require the deaths of many American soldiers, sailors and Guardsmen. Reopening the Strait will take months or longer under fire. But the hard truth is that keeping it open is the real war.

War Secretary “Hairstyle” Hegseth is an evangelical dimwit with no coherent plan for war. Trump is a 5-year-old with a loaded gun. However, military leaders with actual experience would launch the following four-part strategy:

Phase 1: First 24-72 Hours — Shock and Awe

The debacle starts with massive air and missile strikes hitting Iranian coastal radar, anti-ship missile batteries, and drone launch sites. The US Navy will deploy destroyers to intercept missiles, submarines to target Iranian naval assets and cyber-attacks to disrupt Iranian command-and-control.

As a result, Iran’s ability to target ships will be degraded—but not eliminated. And don’t forget, Iran has proven it can shoot down US military planes.

Phase 2: Days 3-7 — Massive casualties to eliminate mines

Next, the US forces must remove the biggest physical threat: naval mines. The military will deploy specialized minesweepers, helicopters towing sonar gear and underwater drones hunting for explosives. Only one or two narrow water corridors will begin to open.

All six crew members aboard a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft were killed on March 12, 2026, when it went down in western Iraq.

However, Iran can lay mines faster than they’re cleared if not fully suppressed.

Hundreds of American deaths will start when special operations teams start marking minefields and securing key navigation points.

US casualties will be very high when Iran uses its full missile and drone capacity, as our servicemen and women operate in narrow waters for an extended campaign.

In the latest surge in March, Trump sent 10,000–15,000 additional soldiers who are poised to die:

  • 1,500 paratroopers (rapid-response forces).
  • 5,000 Marines.
  • 2,500 additional Marines on amphibious assault ships.
  • 6,000 sailors tied to a carrier strike group.

The Pentagon is discussing sending 10,000 more troops to their deaths if escalation continues.

Phase 3: Week 2 — Escort and Stabilize

The US Navy begins the armed convoy escorts for oil tankers, with continuous air patrols. Marines will secure nearby bases and logistics hubs with air defense units.

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, was days away from ending her deployment and returning home to her husband and their two children.

The result will be the resumption of limited oil flow under heavy military protection.

Phase 4: Weeks 3–6 — Sustain the Occupation

Keeping the Strait open amid ongoing threats will require continuous mine-clearing, surveillance and strike missions against re-emerging threats.

 What Could Go Wrong

  • Re-mining: Iran relays mines covertly.
  • Missile saturation attacks: overwhelm defenses.
  • Regional escalation: attacks on bases in Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.
  • Oil shock: even a brief disruption spikes global prices. Read Get Ready to Pay $7 per Gallon at the Pump.

Would you want your young son, brother or Dad to die in Iran? Do you want your daughter, sister or Mom to be killed in an Iranian drone attack? This will happen unless Trump is overthrown or taken out like JFK, Garfield, McKinley or Lincoln.
