Mayor Kate Gallego Announces Re-Election Bid to Help Continue “Building a Phoenix that Serves All of Us”

In a campaign video released on social media earlier today (May 23, 2024,) Kate Gallego launched her re-election. campaign for a final full term as Phoenix Mayor.

In the announcement which the Mayor’s campaign team filmed with her walking and sitting on a park bench overlooking the fifth largest city in the nation, Ms. Gallego said that “she loves this view” that reminds her of “how far” Phoenix “has come and how much further we have to go.”

The Mayor then reminded viewers of the substantial infrastructure, economic, and innovation accomplishments during her tenure including:

  • The construction of the $65 billion TSMC Semiconductor Plant that will provide “good paying jobs.”
  • A new medical school for Arizona State University.
  • Improvements in city parks and infrastructure.
  • Prioritizing public safety and first responders.
  • Policies that address extreme heat.
  • Expanding access to clean drinking water.
  • Tackling the homelessness crisis and helping to make housing affordable. Recent numbers have shown a small drop in the homeless population.

The Mayor closed by saying:

“That’s how we make sure Phoenix is ready to meet the future. I’m proud to announce my re-election campaign. I hope you’ll join me in this campaign to build a Phoenix that serves all of us.”
