My work here (at the Explorer) is done(?)

by David Safier

A letter in today's Explorer, the weekly freebie out of Oro Valley, Marana and points close, complains about the paper's "biased liberal agenda."

Just picked up and read The Explorer for the first time in a few months and I was amazed at what a biased liberal agenda has been moved into the newspaper.  Not sure where that came from. I threw the paper away at first, but then dug it back out of the trash so I can call the advertisers you have that I have frequented and will let them know I will not frequent there anymore if they continue to advertise in your biased paper.  In this day and age we have many options for every retail or commercial product all very close to my house and my dollars will follow my viewpoint that your paper does not represent anymore.

As the paper's resident liberal columnist, I suppose I get to take credit. Imagine the power of my words, that they overwhelm those of Emil Franzi, a man with strong right wing proclivities, whose column, like mine, runs once a month. Ah, the power of the liberal pen!

The letter writer must have read my most recent Explorer column which exposed the Republican's three step process for dismantling government: Demonize, Privatize, Monetize. I got lots of "How dare you!" comments on that one. Imagine how proud I felt.

(h/t to Paul Bookidis for catching the letter.)
