A Celebration of the Nation’s Public Gardens
“Throughout the week, many of our nation’s public gardens will emphasize their importance and impact as community resources and catalysts for change and resilience by encouraging the general public to visit, engage, donate, and/or volunteer.”
Go to the website link to locate public gardens in Tucson (or elsewhere) during this week:
The Tucson list includes the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, UA Campus Arboretum, Tohono Chul Park, Tucson Botanical Gardens. This is the time to visit these gardens as The Heat is coming to the SW desert. (I’ve lived here since July, 1987 and that’s what I fondly call our summer.)
UPDATE 5/11/19: My husband and I visited Tucson Botanical Gardens today (2150 N. Alvernon Way) and here’s a photo (taken by him) of the cacti blooming right now at this lovely garden in midtown Tucson.

Enjoy Public Gardens this week and Springtime in Southern Arizona. Click on the link for other public gardens in other locales in the U.S. We went to the Tucson Botanical Gardens over the weekend and enjoyed all the late Spring flowers on the cacti.
