No One is Above the Law! – #ReleaseTheReport Day of Action on Thursday

Moveon.org and a number of its partners are calling for a National Day of Action on Thursday, April 4, to demand that Attorney General William Barr #ReleaseTheReport if he fails to meet the deadline set by Congressional leaders of Tuesday, April 2. Barr has offered an alternate timeline for a redacted version of the report—but we deserve the full report and Congressional leaders and the American people expect it now.

We are moving forward with the #ReleaseTheReport day of action planned for Thursday, April 4! There are already 235 events on the map, setting this up to be a powerful, nationwide call to make the full Mueller report and all supporting material public—and a response to Attorney General William Barr’s failure to do so. Here’s why we’ve decided to proceed with the events since we last contacted you on Friday: Barr’s “announcement” doesn’t amount to much. We demand the full report; he may redact it heavily. We demand immediacy; he keeps pushing the deadline. We don’t know what’s in Barr’s mind, but we do know he was handpicked for this role by Trump and we cannot count on him to be fully transparent and accountable. It’s our role to respond to his stalling tactics with clear, moral pressure. Demands are growing for the report to be made public in full—from The New York Times to the presidential trail to the halls of Congress. Politicians are watching—and some are leading. House chairs such as Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff are pushing forward with their demands for the full report so they know what work Congress should take up—and our actions on Thursday will help get their back and show the country that the people echo their demands. Meanwhile, other Democrats, the media, and the Trump administration are watching this moment to understand the narrative. As Trump considers potential pardons and as Barr considers how much to release, public pressure will play a role in shaping the political landscape. We’ve heard from all of you. Nearly 80% of the American public wants the full report released. Actually, it is 84%. And that is reflected in the energy of Nobody Is Above the Law hosts.
